I’m in Canada and our government wants us to go back as well. I’m an administrative assistant. I’ve been 1000% more effective working from home. I don’t have an office of people wandering up to me to make small talk, to bother me about things they don’t want to do, to be sent on wild goose-chases… I will lose so much productivity by going back. But they want us back because “networking and in-person collaboration brings real, tangible results.” I’m not networking no where with no body. I go to meetings virtually and take minutes, I book meetings virtually for my teams, I do my work, file my docs, order my supplies, do ALL the things I need to do. And I get to do it all in my slippers, sweats and bra less! Going back is just stupid.

For thousands of years, people worked their land, with their family, all day, at home. But over the last 150 years or so, as society has "advanced," life (school, jobs, daycare, etc) has taken us away from the home from a young age. I think people have gotten a taste of what it feels like to live the way we were designed to live, and they don't want to give it up because it feels right.
@c0wboys4life

The way people lived and worked those thousand of years ago is nothing of a similar feeling in todays times, folks just sitting in their house all day no real work in a sense to how they had to live back then...people just typing on their computers eating snacks and coffee for 8 hours out the day. Getting out of the house is needed society is just becoming more lazy

The laby at 30:00 is in the right. They have a 50/50 relationship. Having a kid makes things 70/30. Especially when you aren’t legally married. Drawing up a contract to maintain the 50/50 relationship is smart.
@kickrockspleze
@kickrockspleze 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with that, but to play devil's advocate, if they both want to have the child, then they both have to take a loss, but with this contract, he wold be the only one taking a financial loss therefore it's not really 50/50. I think they need to not have kids, but having children should never be a business transaction.

@Quiche1
@Quiche1 2 жыл бұрын
@Zuri Taylor For a surrogate as Angel said, the price starts at 50,000. Also child birth is very taxing on a woman’s body. If she has to hire help because she has complications from birth (cesarean) or suffer from postpartum, she would be the one to pay for it. Her asking for that amount from a man who could leave her without repercussions (because they are not legally married) while she is pregnant with their child is fair.

We killed it working from home when we shutdown during the ponderosa. My team broke records sales wise. My job changes if I go into the office because I'll be distracted by all the people there. At home is way more comfy to me. I can cook my own food, ain't gotta worry about people touching it in the work fridge, do laundry and listen to here's the thing and the read out loud on my personal computer while working. Some of the people are out here messing it up for others because they're "working" two jobs from home and getting caught due to lack of activity at one of the jobs. @@kJ922-h3j yeah and not too long ago women was in a worse position. Before women could work or get an education, they were practically forced to get married to abusive, self serving men for survival. Men were legally allowed to physically harm their wives and women were not allow to divorce men. If men decided to divorce, they took everything from the wife. Including the children. Only thing women could do was remarry. So honestly, when I think about that, I don't feel too sorry for men today. Also, now days women who are breadwinners get taken to court for alimony also.

I disagree as far as the issue being the lack of valuing marriage. If he expected her to still operate 50/50 financially while making substantially less and recovering from childbirth, for sure draw up a contract and make him pay. I guess where I’m confused is, are some folks really that weird about money in relationships? Maybe I’m too broke but if that’s wifey then the money we make is ours and we’re just conscious about saving and spending on necessities vs recreational stuff. Idk the whole relationship sounds really weird to me.

No Otis. Do some research on pregnancy, the toll it takes on the woman's body (even if it's a perfectly healthy baby), and the dangers associated with it. The elders used to say that the angel of death walks around a woman's bed 3 times when when she's giving birth - and that doesn't take into account the other 9 mobths. A friend of mine miscarried about a month in and almost died (twice) from a pulmonary embolism as a result. If anyone is at risk of dying in this process, it's her. And the way her brain is set up I'm pretty sure that if she goes ahead with this pregnancy she'll amend her will to ensure that her child is financially taken care of in the event of her untimely demise.

My husband accidentally ate a dog treat. It looked like sandwich cookies in a brown paper bag. The kids and I just stood there looking in shocked. We still bring it up randomly to mess with him. However… went to the pet store late at night and the store clerks were eating those cookies like Oreos!!! They said they are better for you than human cookies. I CANNOT!!! IDC!!! Ugh!!!

I love that for the contract lady. She has things that she pays for solely because their finances are separate and those things still are going to need to be paid for. Also the way things are all broken down 50/50 wise and the way she wrote up that 16 page contract lets me know that she probably has a type A personality so this can't possibly be the first time that she has operated in this manner. He's just acting surprised cuz it's directed towards him and they're Maybe baby? Think she's just trying to make sure that she is secure and well taken care of and that's one less worry that she has to worry about. Half of her pay for 6 months that is a lot of money and she seems like she's probably very independent and doesn't want to have to ask her partner for money anytime she needs to do something. Not to mention the physical and psychological changes she will go through. Childbirth is dangerous not to sound dramatic but that lady literally could die the least he could do is pay her.

I'm an Exec Dir and I early implemented remote work 100%, it makes sense for my team and it's easier for clients as well, we want to accomplish the work but location doesn't matter to my team and I've been honest with my Board about that to advocate for my team and I'd argue they are happier and it's a benefit, I have a small office for if someone wants to go in but it's mostly for if they have down internet which hasn't happened in 2 yrs. Angel you betta werk! That outfit is amazing per usual!! Uncle Joe is just pushing capitalism, he's not concerned enough about actual residents but companies and it is sad but typical. I'm curious I may have missed it but I'd love to see you all break down the anti lynching bill!

Absolutely not required to be in the office. In fact, I was hired during pandemic. I've been to the office twice to get a temporary laptop and drop it off. That's it. This is asking for another wave of covid because it's not politically convenient to "stay in a pandemic"... Edit: and here comes Omicron sub variant 2 🤦🏽‍♂️

I'm a paralegal. Other than for super super rare reasons (Like a client who is tech illiterate or super needy) there is no reason for me to be in the office. My firm is paperless. Our filing system is online. In fact, the client contributes to it by uploading directly in to the file. Everyone emails and calls anyway. We do all of our filing online, courts prefer it that way. Like. There is NO reason why we should have an office.

You might want to keep putting premium in the Maserati. You’re gonna get engine knocking if you keep putting in regular. Make sure you’re putting whatever kind of gas your owners manual says you need to use. Don’t go lower than what it says other. You’ll end up using more gas than if you just put in premium to begin with

‘Downtowns’ want the money back in the area. My job very much so does NOT need us there pretty much everything we do is on a computer. And our office is in the heart of downtown. In the office, the likelihood of me having to be face to face w/ a client is like once (twice, if they’re feeling special) a *year.* I can do the job with my hair tied in my pajamas.
