When I was a kid I read Earthworm Tractors stories in The Saturday Evening Post. Didn't realize there was a movie and I never imagined Botts as being anything like Joe E Brown but this looks like fun, I'll check it out.

It is good but the original stories are even better. William Hazlett Upson wrote 112 Botts stories between 1927 & 1972 he actually worked for the Holt/Caterpillar company as a mechanic/demonstrator from 1919-1924 and much of his stories came from his experiences during those times. This is just the first one and all his stories were gathered in book form and published by pocket books among others. I highly recommend reading them.
