With his trademark mixture of thrills, horror and touch of the paranormal, it is nearly impossible to pin down Joe Hill's writing. Today RT's Morgan asks the author about his newest release NOS4A2, an absolutely captivating tale of a very bad man and the young girl who becomes trapped in his web. Hill describes his book and inspiration behind creating a non-traditional vampire. He also reveals how, in a strange way, the novel is about parenting and how his own mother and father, Tabitha and Stephen King, have helped develop his love for the written word.

Oh bless him. About 100 pages into this book and seeing his very endearing persona made me even more excited to continue such a terrifying story.

If you're new to Joe Hill I recommend starting with Heart Shaped Box, in particular the audiobook which is wonderfully creepy and narrated brilliantly. NOS4A2 is a masterpiece.

This book is great, its one of those page turners that you stay up late finishing. Glad I could finish it before the AMC show comes out. I'll lever look at a Rolls Royce the same way again

I think it's pretty cool that he's following in his father's footsteps while writing under a different last name so that people will look at his book for how good it is, not because it has the infamous "King" surname attached. For some reason, he reminds me of John Ritter lol.

well that wasn't the intention for him to be known as his son either, though even if you never have read his stuff you can just look at the guy and he looks like his father so.... it's not a surprise he was outed at all. but at the same time he's getting a name for himself despite who his father is and i can respect that too, i've also started this i'm only like 30 pages into it though

The only thing lacking for me from "NOS4A2" is some sort of level of in-depthness that is present in almost all of King's books. It's unfair to compare Hill to his dad, but I couldn't help it. He's not as good, not quite as deep, but he's still an impressively good writer and storyteller

Does anyone know where the video of Joe Hill discussing creativity is? He discussed having inspiration in a series of really vivid scenes.

I love and read Stephen King's novels. I have never read Joe Hill's books. So, can you give me an advise, which of Hill's book should be first to read, and what is his interesting novel? Is Joe Hill's novels comparable to King's books.

The writing is there. The heroine in this story is not likable at all. I thought she was quite the asshole and did not root for her once. She was better than the bad guy.
