It is so hilarious watching the community go crazy over the shooting stick, when I have been using the stick to shoot since 2k20!!!!! I am currently tracking a pattern in the game that is forcing 50% win percentage no matter what.. and I am almost 400 games in.. P.S.(This is regardless of the shooting, defense, teammates, etc. If you have a consistent squad you will most likely not experience this as the experiment is based on playing just with randoms.)

My problem is that most of these guys form of defense is literally sitting paint and letting you shoot. Whether you got guard or a big, everyone sits paint praying you miss (which you eventually will). Which is why I made my 2nd build a 6’6 guard that can post score and shoot 😄

Yo jai after doing some test in my court I found out if you have a small gap in between you and your defender you can hit your normal shot when your defender is playing you close and you get a open it’s like a ghost contest on your shot I tested this against kawhi

Ok so I get it I’m pretty sure I understand both sides and it’s not a total bad thing that everyone is relatively/ ultimately going to miss some shots right however why does the skill gap have to be with shooting why can’t the skill gap be on defense… My opinion/ suggestion is primarily fix the contest system every thing about perimeter defense feels pretty good except the contest system and boost the challenger badge to make it feel more rewarding for players who invest in defensive attributes.. as a pg your whole job is to find the best shot available for your team via pass or creating a shot and if the pg can create an opportunity for a team in which the target shooter is shooting wide open that green window should be significantly large enough to green CONSISTENTLY. And I’m not saying to remove any other shooting mechanisms in the game if you want the moving green window based on shot cue cool Or the full whites/no pure green window Yes understand that there may be a pure green window and 2k labs may not be able to find it because they would have to be able to predict where the green window will be in milliseconds before actually shooting which is most likely impossible But with that being said there might not be any RNG in the game at all however it goes against us as human beings in a sense because if you practice something over and over you have a predetermined timing in your head because you’ve done the work and got your reps and that’s the real reason why you have the elite shooting 50 to 60 percent because they are good enough to adjust and watch the animations but that extra 10 to 20 percent they might have made in other years are missing now because it is unnatural and it is random because you can’t predetermine what’s going to happen

I really tried using the rhythm shooting, but the latency issues make it impossible to time it all right. I was constantly getting very late on Push Timing as I wasn't even pulling the ball up before I was suppose to move the stick. There's just too many variables to contend with when the lag hits. I'm still shooting 50%+ on 3's with an 83 3PT PF build using button (HR-HR setting). I'm fine with not changing the shooting at this point.

Why don't people understand shooting doesnt need to be difficult, we just need a proper contest system. I dont mind guards having it difficult in shooting (i play guard btw) and it being easy to spot up for others cos that's how it should be. That way you reward good passes especially in a year where lane steals are OP. 2K are very lazy to not properly address the system and think Zens are the main issues. Just let those shooting wide open hit 🤷‍♂️ Open should be a drop and contested shoild be a further drop

I wasted a couple of hours trying to crack the shooting code. I keep getting these damn slightly early/late releases. I have been favoring the A+ Stability shots thinking it would improve the my ability to land in the green window. I even tried High, Normal, and Low Risk but nothing seems to help. The experience thus far has not been enjoyable. HELP!!!!

JAI. !!!!!!! The 2k labs testing shows that On high risk with the same exact shot and animation, you won’t make every jump shot if you time it the same, the animation DOES NOT change to match where the green window in this test as they tested the SAME STANDING SHOT and the animation speed never changed but the window timing did. 2k labs is a reputable enough source to trust.

I can go shoot 40% from 3 in real life...does that mean I have a 90 3pt? Locking percentage in a window regardless off 3pter isn't it...if 40 -50% is acceptable for the best shooters than someone with a 78 3pt shouldn't even make 2 out of 10.... the math ain't mathing

2k25 aint. So many things wrong , yes 2k24 had it issues but i much rather deal with 2k24 than all than 2k25. They never should have touch the layups and dunk meters, added b.s hign reward to shootings, in addition for bums to hit whites. Green machine should have never left. Add it to high reward settings to reward good shooters And dont get me started about the contest systems. Chieet the courts looks bigger and wider making your MP looks smaller and harder to see you're cue for shooting.
