Reality is, people just want to be good at what they made their player to do if anyone wanted a skill gap that is what a defender should be not some extra mechanic to leave room for error. Ppl make builds with a 77-80 3pt and expect to shoot 60+ percent from the 3 but when they can’t then shooting is too hard… I do agree with you that they need to buff defense however they did not nerf offense, it’s still the more overpowered side of the ball. If 2k can’t figure out defensive mechanics which they haven’t in my opinion since 2k20 then yes they do need too nerf offense in order to maintain balance in the game. 2k just needs to get their shit together and actually put effort into balance but they can’t because no matter what they do it’s always gonna be complaining which is why the last 3 years I’ve been an advocate for just leaving gameplay alone and only patching Glitches

Personally i think the delay is the main issue with shooting if they fixed that issue it might help a lot with shooting because think about it you have to release the shot so much earlier just to green because of that delay. Combine that with what’s essentially a different release every single time you shoot the ball sometimes it being faster others it being slower along with the delay and it makes it much harder to time.

Gonna tell you why this is cap. This guy has over 2000 games played top rep person most of us know is probably around 300. The time played matters, dudes are probably way more skilled than half the community just off time played. If regular old you and your irl had to run 2v2 vs Lebron and Kobe every game you probably wouldn’t want to play either. Some of these guys are duckers but a lot of the people don’t have the time to put into the game just to get on and consistently lose to a guy who plays 20 hours a day. The only people who gain anything from that would be the guys playing 20 hours a day . Let them wait 15 minutes and play against other guys like them rather than consistently giving them free wins on lower ranked players

It’s just different with enough repetitions you’ll figure out which ones you like shooting off of and which ones you don’t but it’s gonna take time and repetition. I keep trying to tell people to take the first season as a learning seasonand stop being so critical on your game focus on the animations and how you shoot out of them by season two if you do it right you’ll be a beast

As someone who was very good in 2k19, 20 and 21. 2k25 has the biggest skill gap. I am complete garbage shooting and dribbling, which came natural in past 2k's. And it doesn't matter how high your ball handle, if you have unpluckable badge...guys will just spam square and tip the ball at least half the time. It should be a reach-in foul way more often. Once I saw 4 back to back turnovers within 3 seconds, due to the ball just being tipped back and forth. It's such a joke man. On my big man build, I haven't even put a single point into steals yet, it's like 25...and I still tip the ball easily by just spamming. And interceptions in park need to be nerfed. I just started micro adjusting my jump shot. I complained before but I put in the work with the systems at hand. Adjust the jump shot to your timing not adjust to the jump shot. You might lose a few games adjusting but at least you’ll end of with a better result for the rest of the year.

Best advice I can say is put your visual cue in the wrist flick between push and release.! That’s the key. Stop being muscle memory shooting and learn the cue! I went from 30-40% and in park I got clips shooting fine. And think around 50% Trust me

I invested in a 89 dunk and 78 vertical to unlock contact dunks on my SG. However, my player will constantly choose to do the most laziest layup animation over a contact dunk or any dunk for that matter. Or you invest in defense to unlock gold challenger and on/off ball pest but the blow-by's are still rampant. Make it make sense, 2K. Shooting aside, some changes are needed ASAP or this game won't even make it to Thanksgiving before it's cooked.

Sid is right it’s like it’s a ghost contest when your defender is up close close on you, you need a nice gap in between you in your defender to make those open shots and it all depends on the persons defense badges you can ofc hit some tight and light pressure shots mostly over smaller guards I’ve tested this out again Kawhi In my court and it actually works. Also if your a defender can have they hands down and you can hit that just gotta time it right I’ve pulled up in plenty people face fading etc. if you know your shot you can hit it

For me, the biggest issues are steals being OP, and the servers being complete garbage. This laggy shit is why I haven't found a consistent shot yet. I will test out a new jumper in my court, hit like 17/20 greens, think I have it down...and then in park it's all bricks. And it obviously due to the delay to an extent...because my guy is also sliding and taking extra steps when I stop moving. 2K remains the only online game I can think of where we can't see our ping to the server...hmm wonder why huh?

From my understanding of playing the game there is a pure green window, but it’s not the same as last year; it moves, as 2K Labs has shown. If you hit those pure green windows, you won’t miss your shot. Also, “perfectly releasing” your shot and then blaming it on “RNG” isn’t valid. If you shoot the ball using your visual cue, you won’t miss. The pure green windows barely move, so if you’re truly perfecting your timing during the 570-600 millisecond increment, you won’t miss. After your first four shots, whether you hit or miss, adjust your timing to be slightly later, and you’ll start hitting those shots(this where you’re cue helps). Using Rhythm shooting makes shooting so ridiculously easy its not even funny. (Me and the boys are shooting >55% from three and if they fixed latency it would be even higher. Thats not to say that we didn’t struggle in the beginning because we definitely did😭) Sid is not lying imo🤷🏽‍♂️👀

Adding RNG to the game does not increase the skill gap… how is me missing the game winning shot knowing I timed it right a skill issue? The fact that I can time my shit everytime don’t take skill?

Just because you’re wide open doesn’t mean you should hit the shot 100% of the time. Steph Curry is the best shooter ever because his shot is pretty close to being a 50/50 open from anywhere.

Brute, nobody wants to waste days and weeks of their time figuring out a game that gets replaced EVERY YEAR! This isn’t world of Warcraft. I’m in the military I don’t get a lot of chances to be on the game. I will say this first. I don’t want a buff to shooting. There should be a skill gap. But you shouldn’t be forced to miss especially if you times the shot correctly. That’s not a skill gap, that’s bailing a player out who decided to leave you open if you’re good shooter and not a bad one cos they want to try to bait a player and suck on off ball defense. BUT, I’m finally a center again after two years of being forced to play pf and sf cos yall made 6’9 meta centers that can do it all. But coming from someone who was shooting 39% from 3 and was genuinely interested in learning how to shoot better when I want to hop on my SF…. Listening to old dude speak on shooting sounded like a drunk conspiracy theorist trying to convince me the world is going to end… it should never be that deep and it made me never want to try to learn… I understand yall comp players I’m not downing yall game at all, but there are casuals who just want to play the game for an hour n then get on with their lives. That hour a lot of times can’t be spent in the mycourt or Gatorade facility or pro am trying to figure out to green with moving green windows, different animations, no pure green window (I’ll believe it when I see it I’m not taking anything anyone says if it ain’t badgeplug, 2ktutes, or 2klabs. Some YTs and some yall in the comment sections are in 2k pockets and will defend the game like yall get paid for it), a thousand timings, and latency and lag spikes and from the sound of the conspiracy theorist, he been trying to crack the code since game dropped imagine what it’s like for a casual who doesn’t nearly have much time to play nor practice. I’m not saying buff shooting at all but players shouldn’t be forced to miss. That’s all. And please buff interior and perimeter… so these guys can stop running round spamming square calling themselves “lockdowns”… in all reality some lockdowns are trash at defense and just rely on 99 steal to carry them. I like SOME of the animations on defense, the cut off comes in clutch SOMETIMES, use them. I’m good on defense, But still the contest system just doesn’t make sense to me

As long as the challenge remains fair and equal for everyone to attempt then this game really is a good game. If they change the challenge to cater to any party, then Mike Wang has no backbone period. Stand on your vision for once bro
