I just came back from a trip with a tour group in Colombia. Jungle treks in the Amazon. One had lived there for years. All were irrationally terrified of all snakes. I hadn’t realized they all brought machetes in case of encountering snakes. How ridiculous. I tried to catch the only snake I found. Grown men were literally trembling with fear lest they find one before them. Snakes are not aggressive, you just leave them alone.

As for rattlesnakes in California ... so what? Hardly a fast-moving animal, easily removed and released. My neighbor in Beverlywood gave me a young rattlesnake because he and his friends were going to kill it, and he knew o kept reptiles. I kept it a few months until it was bigger and released it in a National Park.

Poor snake 😢 Michael Jackson would’ve let it live.. there were rattlesnakes at Neverland.. he never killed one.. in fact he had snakes for pets & had a special reptile house where they lived. He had an albino cobra, burmese python (named Madonna) & a boa constrictor (named Muscles).. many snakes. He had a proper zoo full of animals. Very well taken care of. Still love Joe & Sofia though.. they’re lovely people.
