Lliam Quarm And I don’t think Marler makes it particularly easy to keep things moving forward... he only wanted him to say a quick message to his 9 year old for example, I don’t see the need to debate that when it takes 5 seconds to do. Nonetheless, again, nothing against them, everyone is different and they’re just being themselves. Just feel that most people would put a little more into making the show flow through, considering it’s a podcast/ KZbin etc etc

I disagree with folau's comments and I am not religious but all the crap that is being sent his way is so overboard. He said a bunch of people are going to hell when they die... He didn't say they should die, he didnt go out of his way to single out a person he just preached what he believes due to his church beleifs. Saying he shouldnt talk about his beleifs because people have chosen to idolise him is a loud of bullshit! I would find it very interesting how many of the people who have taken offense against both folau and Billy (and others) have knowingly supported people, companies and countries who support these feeling and far worse ones. Just another bunch of people jumping on board attacking a man who more than likely just needs a guiding hand on how to portray himself online. Surprising how many people spout thst anger and show themselves to be bigots and hypocrites.

@odhranharte48025 жыл бұрын
Bundee already cleared that up. He "liked" it without reading it properly & immediately removed it when he realised what it was. This witch hunt is getting out of hand, people scanning comments from 10yrs ago trying to ruin someone's career today. Context & intent is everything so maybe put down your pitchforks & torches & read the man's response before lynching him publicly. Why are people trying to destroy careers & lives? Its just jealousy & bitterness from unhappy people.
@kenrehill87755 жыл бұрын
@@odhranharte4802 so he says, but we only have his word for it, and no one's word counts for anything any more. People are trying to destroy other people's lives and careers, because they can. People had no right to any power, now have it via the internet and social media. Now with a few well chosen words, they can destroy anyone, anytime. They think it's fun and there's recourse against them. Welcome to world you all wanted.

@@kenrehill8775 it's not the world I wanted Ken, we seem to take people at their word when they say something shitty but when they say something positive or to clarify what they meant we reject it because it doesn't feed that little hate ball growing inside. They just always assume the negative to pull people down to their level. Why do we want or expect everyone to be perfect when we know we are not ourselves, it's jealously because they have a life we want but can't have. It's bullshit to say if you work hard you can achieve anything. No matter how hard I trained or practiced I could never have been Jonah Lomu. I'm Irish 5'10, 12 stone. No amount of dedication will make me a pacific islander, 6'5, 19 stone & I'm ok with that, he was still a hero of mine. Year old comment, sorry... But on the Folau thing, the issue was about him being in a position to influence many many youngsters, some of whom might be gay. The issue I have personally, is that if Folau is allowed to believe what he believes, but has to keep it quiet, then it seems a bit hypocritical if Pocock can be an LGBT ambassador of sorts and very publicly so.... V complicated topic.

The insistence that Israel Folau should be permitted his views as long as he keeps them 'behind closed doors' is a nonsense ruse for appearing 'tolerant' while actually being nothing of the sort. It is predicated on the assumption that he is wrong. If you allow for even the slightest possibility that he is correct then you understand the imperative (from his perspective) of conveying his message. Given that the very visible subtext is that the Bible is false and that God can be utterly dismissed as our moral authority can you please stop pretending to be accepting of Christianity and instead be honest about the fact that you are unwilling to countenance the possibility that you are wrong, despite holding a position based on misinformation.
@seanlennon59865 жыл бұрын
Huh? You have this backwards mate. Falou is the intolerant one here, spewing hate towards people and making them feel less than accepted in this world. Moral relativism doesn't work in this case, Falou's belief, which he uttered, is morally corrupt.
@perennialtourist23355 жыл бұрын
You likewise don't seem to be considering the possibility that Israel Folau is right. Many people agree with you. I'm not telling you not to hold that viewpoint, I'm saying that logically you have to chose between conceding that Israel Folau MIGHT be right or stating categorically that the Bible is false and that therefore the Christian viewpoint needs no recognition or protection. If you chose the first option then, great. If you chose the second then at least you are honest and I have to respect that. What I am objecting to is the panel on this show trying to occupy a non-existent middle ground in an attempt to seem 'tolerant'.
@TheWebdex5 жыл бұрын
Agree, Also Minute 19:40 It’s interesting that Marler is dismayed that you have to be careful about what you say after Tindall tells a funny joke about Pocock using his stance on gay marriage as an excuse to not marry his wife--Immediately after explaining why Israel Folau has to be careful about what he says!?!? A touch of hypocrisy...
@perennialtourist23355 жыл бұрын
@ Sean Lennon. Also, please don't accuse people of 'hate' and being morally corrupt without justifying your comments. As it stands, it should be fairly obvious that I think you are incorrect. It's not obvious to me why you think those things. They are pretty strong statements so I think you need to explain them if you want to say them. Folau didn't tell anyone not to state an opposing opinion, he didn't call for pro-homosexuality voices to be silenced, he willing works (worked!) for an organisation which actively promotes homosexuality and alongside colleagues who do the same. And as far as I know he never called for them to be barred from doing so. All the while he maintained a belief that the actions of promoters of homosexuality are ultimately harmful to gay people. But he continued to respect their right to forward their own opinions. Then when he had the gall to articulate his own perspective, he was sacked, ostracised, insulted and vilified. Are you really going to call that tolerance?
