This guy taught Mary Halvorson. "He really encouraged me, as I mentioned before, and helped me find a voice on the instrument. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today without Joe, and I feel lucky to have had him as a mentor. He was nice enough to play guitar duos with me at my senior recital at Wesleyan, and we continue to play together today in various contexts.
