They were great performances but styles made fights. Both of them fights suited Conor almost perfectly. Aldo had gotten into a bad habit of not using what got him to the dance. He stopped throwing leg kicks anywhere nearly as often as his WEC and early UFC days, stopped really going for takedown or clinches. McGregor literally spelled out the gameplan of how simple it would be to beat Aldo and logically, size plays a massive factor in it. McGregor was walking around 10+pounds bigger heavier than Aldo with a noticeably bigger frame. He was a better mover than Aldo, better counter puncher, fresher, and was a stylistic nightmare for Aldo. Fleet footed karate style southpaw, creating dead spaces for the aggressive, fast but easy to telegraph, muay Thai fighter to jump into and get wiped out. I'm not going to say I knew Conor would win but I was pretty confident he would. I had it like 75-25, 80-20 in Conors favour going into that fight.

Not that psychology doesn't matter. But more than anything you should be looking at the matchups he won and the ones he lost. Eddie was tailor made for him. Eddie has no range weapons at all, and he sucks at closing the distance. Conor thrives off people charging in on him. Dustin was a bumrusher with no defense when they fought the first time. Etc. Nothing about his style has changed. He's just fought more people, and his limited style was bound to make him lose at some point. He's also always been a quitter, so it doesn't take a lot of bad things happening in a fight for him to give up.

Healing after a fixation plate and healing after an intramedullary nail are two different things. The healing after the plate can take considerably longer than wheel healing after an intramedullary nail. If I understand correctly, Connor was treated with an intramedullary nail. This can be expected to heal within 8 to 10 or at most 12 weeks if all is going according to plan. With some complications healing may be delayed but otherwise, healing will be quicker with an intramedullary nail then with other methods of fixation.

There are headlines out there about Connor gaining 34lbs of muscle in 6 months. I'll use the 190 lbs he says he is now but I'm going to use his old walk around weight of 168, so that is a 22lb gain in weight. To be crystal clear it is not all muscle. He is fluffed out to the max. He's in a calorie surplus for damn sure and probably retaining a good amount of water. If he would dial it back in he could easily cut 10lbs off the top with his diet in a matter of weeks. That puts him in the 180 + -2lbs. He ramps up the cardio and real MMA style work out and 5lbs + or - 2lbs comes off. We are in the 173-175lb neighborhood and he's right closer to his old 168. If he was on an old school bulk and heavy lifting phase to gain real strength and gain a few good lbs of muscle he's on his way. If he's looking to have something different for his next opponent I am excited to see what he brings to the table. Always good to reinvent yourself

if we were to go on natural talent and peak that LW title fight vs Alvarez is IMO the most skilled we have ever seen a LW look. Money killed the man. As soon as he was done constantly fighting in the UFC after Alvarez and instead started boxing his reign was over. If that Floyd fight never happened who knows where he would be at. Like IMO the Conor that fought Alvarez gets Dustin outta there in the first 2 rounds. He also would be way more competitive against Khabib. People like to say that 145 was his best weight but idk, that Alvarez fight my jaw was on the floor. I was just so shocked on how good he looked. I think also coming down from 170 in the nate fights he was used to the bigger weights. Especially because he bulked up 2 weight divisions for the nate fights.
