I don't think optical VR will EVER take off in a dominant way. Never. Optical AR will do pretty well, and the real question is if we get synapse VR. Why? Because optical VR is and always will be uncomfortable, and as fun as it is that value consideration will always be there no matter how light the headset becomes, it will always strain the eyes. However if you can hook up to your brainwaves and internal optical feedback senses, THAT'S game over, but it's also nowhere fucking near 10, 15 or 20 years, that's at least 30-100 years away if it's even possible.

People also said the internet would never take off, or the internet, or social media. VR is played by millions and it keeps increasing and the hardware keep getting better, the CES this year was full of new hardware. VR is just slow to take off because it's one of the most complex consumer hardware ever created, it'll require still couple years until it becomes a no brainer.

@@jonathanantoine4962 when text messaging was becoming a thing, people said "it never take off why would anyone type messages to people when you can just call them and talk" And look at us, everybody is just typing to eachother 😂

honestly doubt it. People said that about Alyx and nearly nobody played it outside the oculus/vive group---
