Down here in Latin America we generally believe it’s quite ridiculous what you guys are doing with that word. Some people will actually find it upsetting, negative cultural appropriation. Nobody will understand you if you use Latinx here, they will be very puzzled. Even more with the plural form “Latinxs”. How are you supposed to pronounce that and differentiate it from “Latinx”? Terrible choice of words. Oh well, I guess it is an English word now, because that’s definitely not Spanish.

"No me jodas" is the same in Spain as in Peru. It's like: come on man, give me a break! While "joder" you say it when you get real angry or it's just something that is out of normality. And about " coger" in Argentina, Uruguay, etc. They all know that in some other countries is used as "agarra", from movies or series. It's not a big deal right now. Spanish is one of the most beautiful languages out there.

I hate that people that dont speak spanish or other heavy latin root languages such as french, dont realize that the deference between the gender roots is important for context and without them it would be impossible to tell what people are talking about, in french every noun is either male or female, dictated by la et le o l’, and its very important but hard to explain in english because you have other words that explain context instead of the gender differences

Haha same thing happened to me that happened to segura with coher. Having a dad from Spain/living in Malaga part of the year…I’ve only learned Spain Spanish…so when I ordered food in Dominican everyone had a good laugh when I asked to “fuck a beer, fuck a steak, and you know what, I think I wanna fuck a salad as well” Also in Spain “tranquilo” is kind of used in a “chill the fuck out!” Context whereas in Colombia it means “all good”….I was very confused that everyone thought I had an attitude down there hah

You can call him latinx. Call us Latinos.
@NinaMorenos3 жыл бұрын
My personal opinion is that those that use the word Latinx don’t know the history/origins of Spanish. That’s condescending. We all must remember that all the Romance languages come from Latin and back in the day... everything had a god or goddess. Every living or non living thing had spirit and that spirit had a gender. The Romans adopted a lot from the Greeks. They were very inclusive! And that involves the mythology they had. Latinx is incorrect and sound ridiculous. If you don’t like it, then don’t speak the language. And for fuck sake, you can use the word Latin for crying out loud.
@jsergsif3 жыл бұрын
I don’t even like the word “Latino/ Latina”. So “latinx” is out of the question.
