He did but it's also a business. Imagine you're the owner of a business and you're giving a presentation to clients. You know exactly how the presentation should go because you built the business from scratch doing these very presentations. You're business is literally the top business your field, makes a massive amount of money. Then, in the middle of the presentation your assistant decides to cut you off and share some info. I'd say that glance would be completely in-line. He didn't scream in his face or assault him. He gave the "motherfucker?" look. It was acceptable. This is fun for all of you but it's his family's security to him. His children will currently live on and one day inherit what he makes today and tomorrow with this show. He doesn't do it because he knows any of us specifically will be listening. It was definitely a look (lmao) but completely warranted.

Hayden Holman yea wtf?? Why would someone say this? Im genuinely interested. How old are you black guy? Im 36 and my color is human. Do you think your unique or a rare listener? Do you always identify yourself as a color to people and is there an advantage or disadvantage to identify your color on the web? Just wondering. I know a lot of mother fuckers are extra racist on the web because there aren't any consequences so I get being anonymous but why anounce your 'black or white?' No offense bro just curious

Straight up, this was one of the very best JRE's ever. The 3 of them synergize very very well. And I can't help thinking Duncan is just the funniest person I've ever encountered. What a great spirit. I like Joe in combination with almost anybody, but the side of him that these guys bring out is my favorite version - comedic hyperspace alien ready to wax about futuristic realities and be melted into the spacetime continuum. I love the spaghetti trails of comedy that trickle out of their synergy - fusilli squiggles of humor sizzling with idiosyncratic neural fireworks. Love these dudes.

The thing is, the whole point of Hey Ya! was to satirize the idea that all people want to do is listen to an upbeat dance/pop song, while Andre is singing about some real shit. The whole point of the song is for the song to be upbeat with depressing lyrics. By slowing it down into a ballad, you're taking away from the real purpose of the song. Ryan forgot to mention the lyric that says "Y'all don't want to hear me, you just want to dance". That one lyric embodies the meaning of the song, not the melody.

What I found infuriating about that look he shot him is that Joe interrupts people all the time and cuts them off, and then when he's on some long rant with 10,000 paragraphs if someone even remotely says something he'll say "don't interrupt me" or "let me finish".. he did it to Jamie Kilstein regularly during their podcast. I just find as much as he talks about humbleness, ego-death, all that stuff, he bullies some of the people around him. That look was complete intimidation, Jamie had no reason to apologize, he was just about to explain exactly what it is and Joe was going to simply theorize about the thing. It reminds me of the same shit he does when he shits on a guest right infront of them and then shoots over a look to Jamie like "right Jamie? We got him good didn't we".

The strangest thing about this podcast is when they're discussing the boss/secretary scenario, and the "burly" boss's name is Mike and the woman's name is Denise. I **literally** have an uncle named Mike who cheated on his ex-wife with his secretary Denise, who is now his new wife. He is quite burly and she (no disrespect to her) is absolutely done up with the red lipstick and long finger nails. Don't know what in the universe compelled Joe to pull out those characters, with those names, but it is freaky accurate!

The observation of what the brain does in the absence of a phone and the connection to being in an unnatural environment was truly profound. I've always felt it was bad form to use your phone too often in public because I'm bad at being a millennial. I was literally at the bar tonight as many nights before and as the conversation lulled and people began to pull out their phones and naturally I assumed my thinking position letting my mind wander as it has since childhood. Sometimes it comes in the form of playing out future conversations as Joe discussed, but really in essence it's just daydreaming. I think we're conditioned to view it in a negative light, you're always told not to daydream as a kid, but honestly I think it may be the most healthy way of coping with the over-stimulation of an unnatural world constantly in a state of flux.

Not only is daydreaming normal but it's necessary. It's that crucial time one gives their brain to make associations and connect the dots on all the stimulus that's coming in. When you're high this is increased and all of these fresh new associations are what people describe as "weed makes you more creative". Also as a millennial, I deliberately avoid answering my phone when I'm with friends or family because I want to be present in the moment. The events that happen in the moment are the real history that people will be texting about later. It's so sad when people get together and just lament on past situations rather than doing something that they can all talk about in the future.
@Commanderc001
@Commanderc001 7 жыл бұрын
I mean literally one of the characteristics that sets the human level of consciousness apart from that of other semi-sentient organisms, is that we can project ourselves and create models of the future and play out events in our minds aka daydreaming. So you're actually just utilizing your human consciousness by exploring the inner world, rather than suppressing it with technology.

Not rude per se, but framed as a lack of intelligence. They called it "zoning out" and took it as a sign that you had issues with focus. In reality school was just awkward/boring and the concepts weren't novel to me so I escaped into my own head. Personally I feel the hours spent in my head in school were likely far more valuable than listening to a teacher regurgitate information I was already familiar with.

Reminds me of one time on Steve Crowder show, not that jareds phone went off and Crowder got stern and was like come on dude, well talk about it after the show, we forget that like these guys are still bosses and these are still business's

I know it's his business but the whole conceit of the show is that it's a couple of guys kicking back and talking shit and it's not like Jamie has made a habit of interrupting. Look it was nothing really and I and people who noticed the side eyes from Joe are probably reading too much into it.
