A part of me misses this time of JRE. I remember being cooped up in my apartment, alone during Covid, watching these episodes every night with my new puppy. I played this podcast so often that Rogan’s voice will put my dog to sleep to this day lmao

I’ve been listening to Rhonda for years. She is obviously very passionate about what she does. She is so thorough in her research. She’s not afraid to say “I don’t know.” I really appreciate that she is across the latest studies to the best of her ability because she brings that summary to the wider population! Thank you both!!!!

But her brilliance got infected with c19jabmisinformation.
It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools. Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel. Prevention needs to be emphasized to every patient. After the fact pills and surgery don't deal with the ROOT CAUSE.

I’ve done ketogenic diet on/off for years. I measure blood ketones. Quite frankly, it’s not that hard, it just requires some discipline. Just sautee in good olive oil or avocado oil, greens, white onion, cabbage, radishes, turnips, broccoli, asparagus, some cauliflower, other low carb veg’s. Add some chicken, pork loin, beef, in palatable amounts. Flavor with salad dressing (no seed oils), vinegars, maybe a little mustard, to your flavor preference. Sometimes after sautee, add pastured beef broth to make a soup base. Eat some dark chocolate for treats. Have a little wild salmon once a week. I go in/ out of ketosis, to facilitate metabolic flexibility. Was “pre diabetic” with A1C of 5.9, normal body conformation, after doing alternating keto/low carb, dropped to 4.6. Again, it’s not that hard, and with this style of eating, you can eat to satiety, and achieve your goals.

The intelligence of Dr. Rhonda Patrick is what makes me really believe I could never be smart enough be a practicing physician. I remember she was talking about how driving would make her anxious and I totally agree with her, especially now with all these e-bikes, e-scooters, autonomous vehicles, delivery robots, drones, explosive [Li] battery packs, driver-less taxis, I trip out on how smart she is and I agree with her perspective, bra

27:00 exercise on Keto. Joe you need a few months on it to be able to start endogenously filling up your glycogen from fat converting to glucose to fuel a work out. Working out before that is working out not adapted so performance will suffer.

Everyone was in 2021. They very tightly controlled the narrative by censoring any facts that were contrary.
To the point about cauliflower ears, I've recently seen a clip from a MMA match where one fighter punched his opponent in the ear and the thing came straight off. The calcified blood must've made the guy's ear so hard and inflexible that it was essentially like breaking off a piece of sandstone. Gross stuff.

Even Rhonda hasn't figured out "what Keto is". She is talking about how she struggled to get into ketosis. Ketosis is basically the absence of food. Everytime you put something into your mouth, even the most keto perfect food like macadamia nuts, you are kicking your body out of ketosis. Eat one macadamia every hour for 24hrs and show you a person who never got into ketosis. Your body can't start to get into ketosis until it's done processing the food you swallowed. "Keto friendly" food is just food you process quickly, the key is to go as long as you can without eating. I've done several 20 day fasts, just salt water, and you never really get deep into ketosis until you get to day 3 or so. Kick all you starches out for a month, only carbs from veggies, and then do a salt water only fast, much easier to long term fast starting from a keto adapted body. No sugar/glucose withdraw i.e. headaches etc.

I realise this is a re-release of an older podcast. Dr Patrick seems to me unnecessarily baffled by the difficulty of eating regularly and also regularly being "in ketosis". Drastically lowering carbohydrate intake will initiate fat adaptation right away. But using free fatty acids for energy and upreglating lipolysis are not the same as upregulating ketone production. Any extensive degree of ketosie production requires that insulin sensitivity be restored to all the cells accustomed over years to "ignoring" chronically high insulin levels. Only then will ketone production follow from the resulting absence of insulin's direct suppression.

@nicksawrickshaw537 no, the pet store owner and supermarket guy should do their research to decide WHICH qualified doctors to believe.
@nicksawrickshaw537Ай бұрын
@tinanewby3190 No. The pet store owner and supermarket guy should go ahead and handle supermarket and pet store stuff. Go ahead and let researchers research. The very fact this has to be explained shows why this country is screwed. People like you who think science and research are based on who some random person thinks is credible, are who hold back progress. You are the definition of a troglodyte. Do you understand how scientific research and peer review work? Do you understand that there are people who spend their lives studying and researching these types of fields? Do you understand how dumb it is to refute experts with people who do not have any real knowledge on a subject? Do you understand that if 9 out of 10 doctors agree on something, the 10th doctor is not "just as right" without some kind of ground shattering evidence? No. Of course you don't.

I had covid early in 2020. Within a couple of months I realised I was getting some weird palpitations. By autumn that year I had full on arrhythmia. Scary stuff! I have anti-vax friends who have tried to convince me my arrhythmia was caused by the vaccine despite my pointing out it began 10 months before the first vaccines were rolled out. My arrhythmia was a direct result of my covid infection and has nothing to do with the vaccine.
