GSP is the GOAT. He avenged his only 2 losses. He was the best at beating you at your own game. Game plan genius much like Couture. Georges never failed a PED test in an ERA where basically everyone was on them. He left the sport on top. Greatest Welterweight champ we’ve seen. Even came back to grab the middleweight title. GSP's comments on confidence are really spot on!. Fear of failure can be double-edged. Fear can motivate you to train harder, study harder, work harder. Too much fear and you won't even attempt the challenge because you believe it is pointless and the outcome is already pre-determined. Too little and you won't put enough effort in to succeed. You need to find that balanced middle ground to reach your absolute potential.
@triocha24 Жыл бұрын
Gotta just let the fear flow as well 👊🏼
@retardno002 Жыл бұрын
It's indeed a double edged sword. That fear is also known as the ego. You can use it, or it can use you. Funnily enough success and doing more are not synonymous with happiness. Doing just enough and learning to enjoy life with the people around you does that. Some people just need to achieve success before seeing it, or before being able to do it whatsoever. Being successful is a public service, inspiring others to the detriment of your own happiness.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzbin.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

To have three living legends on one podcast is legendary in and of itself. George is the GOAT in MMA FIGHTING, GORDON IS THE GOAT IN BJJ AND GRAPPLING, AND JOHN IS GOAT IN BJJ AND COACH TRAINER. I have mad respect and props to all of them. Inspiring each of them and the path they've chosen and pursued. Hopefully we get to see more of Gordon in ADCC, George in MMA, and John in continuing being a trainer and coach.

Thank you for bringing such valuable and entertaining conversations Lex! Did you consider talking to Firas Zahabi? I think it would be a really good conversation given his mma coaching experience, stories with George St.Pierre and knowledge in philosophy

Wonderful show, so glad Lex had them on and was able to offer his very unique perspective on not only all things MMA, but questions like; 1) what would win 2) aliens 3) the cosmos Brilliant interview that gave us all another reason to appreciate Lex and his profound interests on this spinning blue dot and beyond.

Gordon Ryan was a name that was not on my radar until this podcast, watching him grapple after hearing him here and all I can say is I love how much you attack the neck. I am glad to see I was right to make all variations of headlock and choke my main tools when I would grapple in the past. I would never be able to take it to your level obviously, not even close, but I am glad my head was in the right place

Great episode, thanks for posting! Shout out to my homeboy GSP. One question I had for anyone out there, John mentions at some point in the conversation that very few people have a technical understanding of an MMA fight when watching one. Does anyone know if there is a good book about understanding the technical aspects of MMA to be able to better appreciate MMA fights? Obviously, I get that you can't learn moves from simply reading. What I'd be looking for is just an introductory book about strategies, techniques, etc. used in MMA. This would help me better appreciate this great sport.
