Imagine a JRE ep. titled "President Trump" pops up out of nowhere and it's just Shane Gillis in full Trump mode having the most hilarious interview with Joe imaginable without breaking character for 2 hours straight.

On the British war ships the cannons had wheels so when they recoiled the cannon would roll back two or three feet and thick ropes would stop them from running over the gunners. British naval gunners were forced to practiced so much that more often than not they could get off almost two shots to the enemies one.

1.33 its painful that Shane didn’t point out why armies fought in lines.. it was to stop cavalry charges and the tactics evolved from the Greek phalanx to gustavus aldufus and his mixed pike and musket units. Cavalry refuse to charge at lines of packed men and also the concentrated fire would be an armies best chance at stopping a charge. Also trench warfare didn’t come about in America it’s more likely it came about in the 1500-1600 ie the seiges of Malta and Vienna, the ottomans would dig trench systems out from their camps in order to approach the walls under cover. Theyd also rig explosives to destroy walls that couldn’t be breached with artillery
@Cam123695 ай бұрын
Not to mention it was primary military doctrine at the time and the best way to control and maneuver an army without modern means of communication
