Did anyone else notice @ precisely 12:25 into this video, Billy claims that the "NFL is the toughest to beat?" Yet he said that he wins the majority of the time betting NFL games in the "60 Minutes" episode that aired back in 2011.

A coach betting on his baseball team is linked to leave the starting pitcher in longer than he would if he didn't have $ on it. A mgr. Might also bring a closer in who has pitched multiple innings the 2 previous nights. Normally. That closer would not pitch on that 3rd consecutive night, but if the mgr has a lot of $ on a game he might bring that closer in and risk injury or whatever. That's why coaches betting on their teams can ruin the integrity of the game.

Right on, Pete did both of those things you mentioned. Eventually the gambling grows and they do anything to pay off and keep going....including betting against your team. Good idea to NEVER allow it

@igorslocks2 ай бұрын
Lefty's are smoother for some reason at a lot of things. All the sweetest looking baseball swings come from left handers. Golf too,but not as noticeable. Why is this? Hard to say for 1reason only it's complex. Interesting discussion no doubt

funny to hear them say "before the Internet." I dont think they were placing all that many bets prior to 1969 which can be argued as the birthdate of the Internet, it didnt become more available to most people til dialup became a mainsteam thing thanks to the PPP specification in RFC 1661, though technically there were ISPs a few years earlier using the SLIP protocol

Here's a constant in gambling. Novice gamblers that don't really know what they are doing always bet favorites a give points. Almost always people will look at the lines and bet games that they think the favorites will win by more than the spread. Very rarely will a novice gambler bet the underdog and take the points. Handicappers are well aware of this fact.
@magnaballgin686513 күн бұрын
Very true, when I ask my buddy who likes in the NFL has never sent me an underdog. I told him this once and he got all pissed off...he realized though I was only trying to help him make more winning plays.

So it’s interesting that this guy doesn’t know why Pete Rose betting on games is a problem, but it’s the same reason that they should’ve stopped that fight to protect that fighter brain but they decided to let him go because they had so much money bet on it. There’s two problems with Pete doing that betting. If he’s spending $5000 today and only $200 tomorrow, then gives the bookmaker information that he doesn’t really think the rents are gonna win, and then secondly, if he has a really good feeling and that big , and then you get in the game, you might bring tomorrow starter in and that would be a decision detrimental to the team or not in the interest, long-term, but rather trying to find a short term fix to the fact that you gambled so much money on the game that you’re playing
