when does joe call him out on the bullshit
@mythosmind86337 жыл бұрын
Joe called him out when talking about how most of the population is going away from religion. and in that case, Tom made it seem it was a lot bigger than it actually was, probably because he was talking from his own experiences and the people he is surrounded around isn't religious. If you ask a religious person the same question, they would tell you that Jesus is coming back, and the whole world is going to bow to the Jesus. I know the dueling worlds as I have been in both, when you are part of something, that is your world. When I get around religious people now, I completely forget that people still have that concept and it drives their worldview and Most of the other times, it was Joe trying to understand what Tom was saying.

@Benny$400 Million net worth as of 2019. Built on the back of starting off at the bottom of a company (intern in a server room if a start up) and working his way to an ownership position building it into one of the most loved/respected nutrition companies of the day (even the haters here say they love quest bars lol). Then he leaves, but his co-ceo's say they'd rather shut the company down than run it without him. He steps up, and still moves forward to create a politically unbiased media company (in 2018) with a positive message. People here want to hear Joe speak, and it's his podcast. It's nobody' s fault but Joe's he was having a bad day and didn't have anything to contribute/could conduct an interview. Tom stepped up and discussed what he wants from HIS guests on Impact, their story. With no direction form Joe he offers up secrets about how he went from an obese broke kid to nearly half a billion fitness figurehead. OF COURSE people are going to be offended and scared. They've worked hard too and think they then deserve some of what Tom has, or at least that Tom doesn't deserve it. What I don't get is the Aubrey Marcus/Onnit love. Onnit pushes garbage compared to Quest, especially compared to Impact Theory, and aubry's COMPANY is worth 38 mil. Tom's net worth, personally, is 400 mil. They're not on the same level. People just can't accept Tom's message of personal responsibility. It's too big and scary an idea, baseless accusations and pointing fingers is a much safer and easier way to try and self-soothe.

Years ago I was a heroin addict, also I was shooting up meth and Cocaine, and one day I was trying to find a vein for hours. There was blood everywhere, and my arms were a mess, and I looked up and saw myself in the mirror, and had what you might call a moment of clarity.....I realised I'd reached my PNR (Point of no return). I got up, squirted the shot down my bathroom sink, and knew that I was done with drugs. I declared to my housemates I wasn't going to use anymore....they all laughed. A week later my housemate throws a pool party, and one of my friends asks me if I had a chance to do anything, what would I do? At that moment, a plane was flying over, and I laid back on the grass and said : I'd be flying one of those. Everyone who knew me and heard what I said, also knew my fear of flying was so bad, that i drive 1000kms interstate to visit my family, so the notion of me becoming a pilot?.......they all laughed. There was a girl who I didn't know sitting nearby, off her head, overheard the conversation who pipes up and says: I used to fuck this flight instructor, I'd love a reason to call him.....so she calls him and books me a lesson.......everybody laughs The next week the girl picks me up and we go to the airport for my lesson, it was horrifying, but I was so exhilarated after, I had to give it another try. I got all the info from the flight school about being a commercial Pilot....I took it home and declared: this is what I'm going to do.......everybody laughed. I forgot to mention I'm a sex worker, I worked in an upmarket establishment at the time. I told them I was changing to the morning shifts, no more party bookings, because I've given up drugs and I'm studying to be a pilot........everybody laughed. Working 3 morning shifts a week, flying twice a week, it took 4 years to get there, but I stuck to it like a maniac, self studied for all the cpl exams ( got in the 90%s for all but 1), and passed my flight test. Nobody was laughing, but a lot of those people who laughed, became haters. Fuck em.... That's my overcoming diversity story. All true. I cbf proofreading it so I hope it makes sense 😀

Big fan of both Joe and Tom. Seems Tom has rubbed people the wrong way in this interview; if he has, check out Impact Theory, I know you will change your mind. Tom is a genuine all-round good dude, who I believe, is trying to make real positive change in the world. He might articulate himself in a way sometimes that does him a disservice, but its the message not the messenger that you should be paying attention to. Maybe he made a bad first impression here to some. But honestly give him a chance, he is a filter for some of the best ideas out there, has unbelievable work ethic and is a role model to how to conduct yourself in business that cares about what it's doing. If you happen to read this Tom, keep doing what you're doing. A lot of us on the come up, see what you're doing, see what you've done and can only tip our hat. Onward.

I've watched both Tom and Joe for 12 months and love them both. I think they have lots to offer, but just don't quite sync up in a 1 on 1 environment. I wonder if these two just don't have a good connection. Clearly both are smart, driven, successful people, but I think their chemistry is just off. If I had to guess, I would say Tom is a lot more "serious" than Joe. Tom doesn't make jokes, he doesn't really smile, and that's okay. He is really passionate about his field and shares tons of valuable knowledge. However, I think his presentation leaves something to be desired for an average viewer. A random tangent, a pointless anecdote, a humorous idea would go a long way to bridging the gap between Tom and anyone he communicates with. Love what both of these guys do and hope there is a lesson to be learned here.

I can understand why some people seem to not have liked this podcast. I don't think the best of Tom comes across here and the level of practicality he has towards growth and self-development isn't revealed properly. Tom's level of complete openness is going to make a lot of people uncomfortable and it can be hard to get a proper picture of where he's coming from. Even a lot of open individuals will struggle with him at first. He's completely willing to put himself on the line and be in a vulnerable position with complete transparency, always willing to question himself and learn while also stating clearly what he knows. I understand that it can put people off and come off as ignorance or naivety. Joe and Tom don't connect on a deeper level here, their fundamental process by which they choose to negotiate with reality is just so different, and to be fair, Tom has fully embraced a mindset of growth, optimism, and change at all cost, which is why he can appear so alien and disingenuous or having grandiose delusions. I think Joe embraces those things as well but just from a different angle and with a different mentality. Joe doesn't really facilitate Tom's mindset here much although I know he is very capable of doing so and has done that in the past and in future videos. I would love to see Joe on Impact Theory, that would be a very different experience altogether.

Just because this guy seems full of himself doesn't mean he is. People go through periods of highs. He might be high on life right now and just over the top. He could be depressed in 5-10 years. Who the fuck knows. Stop listening to how they are saying it and start listening to the content. Thanks

The fact that Tom is planning to help movies happen to get out an inspiring narrative or message just makes him 2x cooler. Good interview.

Tom is the man, I agree that his and Gary Vaynerchuk's podcast's fell a little flat on JRE unfortunately. Gary's interview with Tom on Impact Theory was much better. As they vibed on a more entrepreneurial level. Tom is also extremely well read. As JRE is Podcast Gold. These guys need Joe's reach to garner more of a following. Joe usually is very well researched, but I don't think he did as much homework on Tom and Gary in there casts. Could have been allot better. But Joe is still a pimp and I love a majority of his work with Comedians, Health Experts and MMA. Tom is definitely an acquired taste, he appeals to market very focused on mental optimization in an intellectual way.

You should get Lexi Alexander (director of Punisher: War Zone, @Lexialex) on. She's into martial arts, outspoken about women in film and politics, and she is/was slated to direct the Chris Benoit film, which will probably look at how traumatic brain injuries affected him. I think it would be an interesting conversation. Love the podcast!

So here is my analysis. I think Tom is a smart guy and is super driven but to the point where he comes across as full of himself(He may not be at all). At times it doesn't feel like a conversation and I think that's why some people don't like him. Overall he seems like a good guy and a bit misunderstood by Joe Rogan fans here. But hey, I'm just another KZbinr adding his 2 cents, I could be wrong. He sure as hell is an interesting guy, that's for sure.

Hey Joe you seemed a bit irritated / unengaged in this podcast. After around the 45 minute mark I got the impression that you had really lost interest in the conversation or just didn't believe it. I personally found the guys plan and life path to be fascinating and was a little sad that it got cut short. I can't help but wonder if you cut it short due to boredom or actual time constraints. I know you almost always go to 3+ hours when you're enthusiastic about it and this one seemed like you were "looking at your watch the whole time" or "counting the minutes", if that makes sense. Maybe saying that you didn't seem engaged or interested in what he was saying is a better way to put it. This was just my take/feeling on the matter, which means very little so take it as you will. I wanted to offer this "constructive criticism". Not trolling or complaining. Have been and will always be a huge fan. Regardless, love the show and keep on keepin' on!

My medical bills have been miraculously paid off. Now I have the extra money to spend on quality products from ONNIT.com such as Alpha Brain and New Mood. I've never felt better. My shipment of ONNIT brand sterioids are in the mail now. Soon I can be as swole and alpha as you. Thanks Joe for keeping up the good work and finally convincing me to live a healthier lifestyle.

Two of my favorite podcast host in one episode! JRE & Impact Theory!! ..I’ve never seen Joe like that.. Unfortunately, Joe seemed irritated or/ and tired/ kind of closed minded during this interview. Maybe it was a lack of research on Joe’s part. It sucks that this didn’t go better, but can’t win them all I guess. I’m still a huge fan of both of these guys and their shows!!

I really don’t get the negative comments aimed at either Joe Rogan or Tom Bilyeu. I enjoyed this episode and it was interesting hearing different perspectives from each one. I didn’t think Joe was irritated towards Tom at all. He did challenge him at times, which I find refreshing about Joe Rogan’s interviewing style.
