I'm surprised Rogan wasn't aware of who Thomas Sowell is. He's probably the most unacknowledged ,extensive and brilliant researcher for whatever topic he addresses.

I love what Thomas Sowell says about Trump. "I think his policies have by and large have been policies that were far better than that of previous Democratic or Republican administrations. I go by the consequences. - Okay. - I mean he hasn't produced the right rhetoric, but the fact is that unemployment among low-income people, black, Hispanic included, is at a level that is far lower than it's been in decades." - Thomas Sowell on the Myths of Economic Inequality Hoover Institution channel on KZbin.
@jimbaker51102 жыл бұрын
Thomas Sowell is not as good as analyzing cause and effect as you think he is. Your quote above shows this. Also his stance on using Venezuela as an example of why Socialism doesn’t work. He fails to bring up that “socialism” wasn’t actually practiced in Venezuela due to their corrupt government at the time. So in essence if it wasn’t practiced properly….he can’t deduce that it doesn’t work just because he sees people there suffering.

@Orlando Brown Do you know what actually happening and is happening in Venezuela? The corrupt president and dictator army President who overthrew him BOTH kept like 75% of all the oil revenue the country made and literally only gave some of it out to like the 20 families who were working for him in his administration (billions of dollars here). That is called run away capitalism (what we do in the USA today)….not socialism. Learn something real before you comment dummy.

Absolutely. Thomas Sowell can impact many people. But Yuri Bezmenov, former KGB propaganda agent turned defector / educator and western journalist made something very clear. An American Tail was one of my favourite movies. Right up at the top. Watched over and over again! I would rewind and watch and rewind and watch so I would sing along to 🎵Somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight🎵 Until…Fievel Goes West!! My all time favourite! As the child of an immigrant family, with still living family members from ‘the old country’, this story literally hit so close to home. My family came to Canada, not America. We aren’t Jews, but my family came to get away from the threat of Russia and because my family was soooooo poor and had nothing. Just like the Mousekewitz family! Amazing movies, great songs, great stories. Watch them!

Im not convinced about the ebonics. Where's the lineage? 'Be' is the most common verb in English and it's just not being conjugated. It's the simplest deconstruction and coincidental. The other way to deconstruct would be changing word order. Ebonics/AAVE will also completely drop the verb; 'he funny', where does that come from?

Like so many others in here, Sowell deserves a JRE. Thing is, JR is going to have to do some massive pre-study. From "Basic Economics" to "Black Rednecks, White Liberals" covers a lot of territory. But if he positions Sowell *in relation to the establishment*, THAT could be interesting. And perhaps more palpable to the broader JRE audience unfamiliar with Sowell.

It would def turn a MOUNTAIN of people onto Sowell, which is certainly what the world (and this country 'USA' in particular) needs. However, I'm not sure that Joe, (while I do love and respect him), is intellectual enough to stimulate Sowell's interest in engaging, (and aiding (Joe), by coming on the podcast. He's, (Joe), also left-leaning, and ultra neutral, to the point of being almost advisorial to the pointed way Sowell thinks. Just saying. It's doubtful, but I would def love and cherish the experience of it does actually happen. Joe leaves plenty of room for his guests to relax and really stretch out, so in that way, would be great. My only reservation, is that Joe may not all the right questions to get the most out of him (Sowell). Perhaps if Joe did some research and reading first, enough to stimulate genuine interest, it would be a a worthy endeavor 🤷✌️ great conversation here though 👌
@jeremiemorse86422 жыл бұрын
@@loudsmokes74 I think the best situation would be for Joe to have him and maybe a guest familiar with his work who could keep the questions going when Joe could not. I think alot of people would at least appreciate his intellect and would at the least open up Sowell to an audience that is not just mainly libertarian or conservative. When I first heard this theory I was skeptical but it lead me to really look into his research and he has solid evidence on this. Just imagine what other ideas he could present to people who may not know who he is.
