I was in the US illegally for 23 years, (brought over when I was 1) and finally obtained citizenship through my job position being essential to a large corporation. Basically achieved the "American Dream" definitely did not receive a 5 star treatment 😂. In fact there were so many more barriers to get to where I'm at today than your average citizen. I did not have a childhood as I working while attending school by age 12. There are absolute horror stories of relatives being treated like animals by the system. It's not okay to say you hate immagrants but nobody bat's an eye when you say you hate illegals. Those barriers are still alive and well today so anybody that manages to succeed and help their family prosper under these conditions is more American than a citizen sitting at home collecting unemployment. Go read the Plaque on the Statue of Liberty and remember what type of people built this country and where our values lay. Nobody is gonna give you brownie points for looking down on others less fortunate than you.

Born and raised in Corona Queens I’ll tell you first hand prostitution was always a thing on Roosevelt, but it was done fairly lowkey because they knew they could get in trouble. Over the last year it’s sky rocketed and it’s on front street the cops will have foot posts on every street from 103rd to 61st and it does not deter the brothels. It’s honestly insane how different it is in terms of how freely they operate compared to before.

Years ago it was all asian women but from about a year ago it's increasingly more a mix of asians and latinas. They advertise as massage parlors, not brothels, most of the time. Sometimes a guy will hand you a card with a phone number and a picture of a girl and say "chicas chicas". But this has been going on for as long as i can remember. It's Roosevelt Ave. between Junction Blvd and 75th St. although now it's spreading to some parts of woodside/elmhurst.

I live in carona queens. On Roosevelt Ave. Mets stadium is on Roosevelt so you know. There's brothels every 2 blocks all up the Ave. This the main place for that. Except....that's not really true. Up until the 60's it was legal and actually run by the state in Thailand. Only a small percentage of 'Western Men' took part. Not many men (statistically speaking) are spending a significant chunk of change to fly halfway around the world just for paid female company. There are FAR more Asians who take part than there are 'Western Men'. In 2019 there were almost 11 million Chinese tourists who visited Thailand. I won't say what percentage were out for female company, but I'm guessing it was not small. I get that it's popular to bash 'Western Men' and/or to make them responsible for all the problems (real or imagined) in the world, but it's a tired trope.
