I love how Josh thinks USADA shouldn't take into account his past failed drug tests. By his own statement, "the supplement industry was way different back then". So Josh is basically saying those past tests were due to tainted supplements. Fast forward, he tests positive for a banned substance whilst still fighting for the UFC (not retired) after taking a dodgy chinese supplement. Where's the personal accountability? His other statements were laughable too, I told my manager who in turn, told jeff nevinsky that I would be off somewhere in Europe so don't bother testing me. That's not how it works Josh, you didn't bother filling out the USADA whereabouts app whilst still under contract. Saying how he lost all this time fighting this massive legal battle, okay fair point but then he goes ahead and misses thje fucking arbitration date with USADA? Luckily they were decent enough to make an exception for him. Ultimately the arbitrator ruled in Josh's favour but he's not some 100% innocent party here.

@JREClips I'm an Olympian (Australian) and have been tested COUNTLESS times. I've had testers turn up to my home before and those testers have to follow you around until they test you i.e. you can tell them to get in the car and come to your appointment.

I'm a huge Barnett fan, but I have to call BS on him saying he told USADA where he was going to be when he was "backpacking Europe". He told Joe that you are required to tell USADA where you are going to be on a daily basis, so they can come and test you at any time. But then he says he told them that he was going to be gone in Europe for a month and he doesn't tell them where he's going to be. Guess what? You(Josh) fucked up! You knew the rules and you didn't give your day to day schedules. I know it's a pain in the ass and you may not have known exactly where you are going to be, but that's the contractual agreement that you were in. You should've at least given USADA a home base address where you were going to sleep each night. If you're backpacking, give them some destination address that you will be at in the next day or two. It sucks for us fans, because Josh was one of the best of all time when he was healthy.

The artist will ask for a load of random things, the label will ask for a load of random things and both know those things could be annoying. Joe and Schaub have openly talked about these athletes going on a vacation during their cycle, and by the time they come back the steroid is out of their system. Someone recently talked about on JRE how it is done and many guys develop a way around the testing.

They've speculated. And while, yes, it is possible to take a short ester steroid in that time that can clear the system, the physiological adaptation made from that would be minimal at best. I'm not saying that it's not possible that they've taken something, I'm suggesting that even if they did during that month period that it had far less of a beneficial effect for them then they think. People constantly mistake or forget that taking an anabolic steroid does a multitude of things, (ie, water retention, libido, psycho-physiological, nutrient partitioning, cholesterol, liver toxicity, red blood cell count, and of course the impact on muscle receptor cells). So while there is an increase in muscle protein synthesis, it is limited to the times where the individual has increased anabolic activity. So like anything in the fitness world, you arent going to see massive changes in a month, your body simply wont adapt that much especially these atheletes at the elite level.

MMA fans that didn't get to watch most of his career live will have a difficult time putting his resume into context. Its truly outstanding. He had an opportunity to be honest about the realities of fighting in the time period that he did and decided not to for the most part. I feel like this was an opportunity for a real insider so to say, to open up and shed some light on the subject. I'm a die hard Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira fan and his battles with Barnett made me a fan. Legendary stuff, both men. Chaels transparency has been refreshing and enlightening to many fans who are ignorant to the actual affects of anabolics. Hes a leader in many ways. The stigma is so toxic that most veterans bite thier toung. Steroids are effective but they dont make champions on thier own. I wouldn't have been able to pass a USADA test in the last 20 years, I should know.
