Sounds about right. My mom saw him at a concert in Charlotte almost 20 years ago. He was with who is now an ex wife and some of his children (and apparently was very drunk). When my mom approached him the ex wife tried turning her away and saying they were out spending time together as a family and that he doesn’t want to be bothered, and in the middle of the rant Ric cut her off and said people like these are who made me what I am today and I’ll always have time for them, then proceeded to talk to her for a minute before taking a picture and signing an autograph. Still have them both

As an amateur wrestler up until high school, was humbled attempting placement in college. Kurt Angle is definitely the greatest of all time. He’s really a legend, had no flaws on offense or defense. Then transitioned perfectly into Professional Wrestling, while still hanging true to his roots, and helping pioneer actual wrestling into the Sports Entertainment.
@-BuddyGuy
@-BuddyGuy 10 ай бұрын
I mostly agree and Angle is one of my favourite ever but wrasslin had its roots in amateur wrestling, Stu Hart for example was an amateur wrestler in the 30s which ultimately resulted in Bret Hart having the style he had. Back in the day most people thought professional wrestling was real and many many wrestlers went from amateur to professional. There were many others before Bret Hart.

My dad was literally the same way as Ric Flair but sadly his heart gave out at 63. My dad loved Ric Flair too. He brought me to a wrestling match at the TD Garden in Boston when I was a kid and I saw Ric Flair’s bare ass when Bret Hart pulled down his shorts and sadly I was on the side where we all saw it.😂 at all the weddings in bars everyone with flock to my dad, because he was a big Irish guy, and always told the funniest stories and bought everyone drinks. He was spending a lot on robes, dress suits, alcohol. Many wrestlers who look up to him made more. Kurt was offered more by WWF and turned it down. Then he accepted a far lesser offer years later. It's like when the Bulls were paying Michael Jordan 3 million a year and rookies who never amounted to anything were getting 20 million a year for five years. Sure Jordan banked on his shoes but he was way under paid for his basketball and the audience he brought to the sport.

Flair embodies a wrestler who became the gimmick in real life. How Flair is still living with his lifestyle is a miracle. Dude has been drunk every day since 1974. Especially now that he's not wrestling anymore, his entire life is just a debauchery filled party. Tony said that him and Flair day drank from 130-8 and he was still sober after 17 vodka cranberries. Richard fliehr the man no longer exists. He died in a plane crash in the 70’s and since then ric flair has been walking in his shoes. It’s both beautiful and tragic, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in the twilight of his career struggling to maintain that image.

A man with a severe addiction to drinking and this exactly what keeps addiction going in this world it’s being glorified entertainment. Why can’t they see he’s severely lonely and wants true friends?? True happiness? Then when he’s gone and it’s all out it’ll still be entertainment oh wish I would’ve or could I have for him. If any of these people had a once of admiration for that man they’d have fun doing something sober. Sure he’d find it else where but wouldn’t be at their expense or on their plate.
