It’s amazing that Adam literally said what he did about how you have to be careful what you say because it’s on the internet forever, and Rogan IMMEDIATELY after that tried to bait him into giving a sound byte about the slap situation. Adam handled that like a professional and said basically NOTHING, which was probably the best thing he could do.

Its normal to condemn someone doing a scandal even if your reaction stays in the internet forever. The scandal is the problem, not you condemning whats wrong But the act of doing a scandal like what will smith did is something you dont want to stay in the internet forever. Hope this helps. Joe Rogan was very good here he stayed true to what he thinks is right and wrong and STAYED REAL and AUTHENTIC. Gotta respect Adam for knowing whats right and wrong but feel bad about will smith for being stupid and acting on impulse therefore him being silent about it

I’m black and it bugged me that this was two black men on a world stage. Not blaming Chris at all. No one could cite poverty, youth or inexperience as the source. It was violence from high, unchecked and misdirected emotion. Afterwards, to add insult to injury; Hollywood hands Smith an award.😮
@cnaizhen5 ай бұрын
I agree with you wholeheartedly until the final point. As an organizer, it is kinda hard for someone to stand out and say let's cancel that award isn't it? At least my uncreative mind can't think of a way out right now if I'm put to that situation.
@Soul_Midas5 ай бұрын
@@cnaizhenSure, Will deserved that award. However, after that incident, it should have just been given to him quietly back stage. It would’ve served as a lifetime reminder of what happens when you don’t control your emotions.
@cnaizhen5 ай бұрын
@@Soul_Midas Frankly not a great solution though. I don't watch Oscars much at all, but I believe that the best actor award is the biggest prize on that show. I'm thinking from the show producer's perspective. You can't just take the highlight and the tradition of the show out just like that. People will think you lost control of the show and will be questioning you why you are giving the award to Will Smith in the first place anyway. And let's say the media decides to support Will Smith, the organizers will take the hit for oscratizing the victim. This is a career ending label for the producers. And if we are considering canceling the whole award totally, who would dare to stand out and make the call? It is a challenging situation for the show producer, the "easy" and "safe" solution is simply to just carry on as per plan and pray silly things like the standing ovation don't take place.

@@cnaizhenThe most basic problem you are overlooking is that he committed a crime on a live broadcast and was treated differently than the rest of us would have been. There is no argument to the contrary. Police should have come and arrested him immediately. If it was you or I, you know that would be the outcome. Prove me wrong.
@cnaizhen5 ай бұрын
@@kphelps1416 Like you said, it happened on a live broadcast. ANY viewers watching TV could have just called the police and no one did it. Are you going to say that all Americans (who have access to the PD call number) watching Oscars do not have morals or lack the capability to identify a crime in happening? Put yourself in the shoes of the producers. Your head is on the chopping board, and you have no idea of the consequences of the actions to take, then what you said is a very hard decision to make at that moment.

This episode was fascinating. Two guys talking about their business and how they got there. Both of them made it in a crazy hard business. Nobody gave them their success. Drive, talent, balls and guts made the doors open and the rest is show business history. The cool thing is how both of them bring their friends along for the ride. Sandler has his stand up crew in his movies as well as helping him along the way writing, and changing bits to insure the success of the film and stand up. Rogan established the Mothership. There comics can try their materials and get noticed. We enjoyed the show at the mothership last month, and liked the vibe and see the freedom of speech in action. I still can’t look at Will Smith remotely the same whatsoever after this even 3 years later... He stole EVERYONES moment that night. Imagine how Serena Williams family felt. Imagine how Samuel L Jackson felt that his first Oscar win which probably would’ve been the biggest news of the night, was overshadowed by Will’s tantrum. Chris is a class act by not pressing assault charges. And the fact that Will wasn’t escorted out and was allowed to accept his award and give his speech was to thunderous applause was BAFFLING. On one hand, I’m surprised the Academy doesnt have some sort of failsafe for this in case a decided winner commits a felony assault, but on the other hand, it was only right before his announcement. If I was Chris, I would’ve been training every second of every day MMA and catch Will lacking
