I’ve eaten the shark meat while I was in Iceland. It’s not that bad. My family is Icelandic, but came to America in the 60s. There’s an Icelandic “test” where they try to get you to eat the shark and take a shot of this super strong liquor. I was only 13 at the time so I just had the shark. And no Vikings we’re not on mushrooms. Joe is referencing berserkers who were especially crazy warriors that got jacked through the use of alcohol and yes perhaps mushrooms, but they were the exception not the rule.

This little rascal grows every autumn on crop fields where cows roam and poop all over the fields, they grow when the first frost arrives and they will take you on a journey like every other psilocybin mushroom, they are free and available for everyone to consume as long as you are not caught harvesting them, been here since humans first set their foot on these lands and been used since the beginning for shamanistic purposes, if you want a dysforic drug like the berserkers used they would have used the amanita murcara, which if cooked down or simmered down can be used for human consumption and tripping but it is a dysforic drug not euphoric and people whom like myself have over 20 years experience with shit like this know for a fact that it is the amanita muscara vikings used for getting into a certain state, but most likely they would have been sober or drunk on alcohol and used these in ritualistic purposes, same with psilocybin mushrooms, they are not fit for use on the battlefield.

I think that he is trying to educate people on the effects that mushrooms have on the brain as well as weed and DMT. I served in the Marine Corps and when I got out I had a horrible time trying to acclimate myself into everyday civilian life. I was constantly terrified about someone coming for me and/or my family. I was was always counting the number of people in a confined area like a restaurant or a store and I had nightmares every night. I tried Mushrooms for the first time about 9 months after I got out. It completely rewired my brain it took away the crazy for about 2-3 weeks and I tried DMT and it was a little spooky but the affect was much more affective. Great for your mental health

Well thats not necessarily true. Shrooms could be good for specific mental problems but not for all. Like you can get lost in your anxiety and intrusive thoughts become worse. There aren’t just a giant population of huge strongmen in Iceland. Strength competitions are somewhat part of tradition there and much more of a popular sport in Scandinavian countries. Scandinavia as a whole has a pretty large representation in the sport because it’s essentially theirs. It started in their history and they have a lot of folklore & Excalibur-like historic records. Nothing to do with food or history making them particularly huge. Also, Iceland only SEEMS to be high up in strongman because of the dominance of their two old champions and some arguably rigged competitions to inflate that. I mean Jon Pall was like the largest athlete in Iceland in general at that time. He was their Michael Jordan.

@Joahhs

@@PlutoTheGod Excalibur was given to Arthur by the lady in the lake. The sword in the stone was named Caliburn. Sure there's legends of strength in the Scandinavian epics. But the Scandinavian epic would have been an embellishment on their ancestors achievements. Unless you literally believe that there's a vallhalla. Which I doubt you do. Europe is a big place with big dudes. I do agree with you, just calling Caliburn, Excalibur shows that you're ignorant of the origin of these stories.

Just a few months ago my mother was beaten by a home intruder and a group of teens stabbed a gas station attendant. What changed? The demographics. Mushrooms are also what made the Aztec so fucking vicious and selfless in battle. When sacrifices were performed, shrooms were imbibed as commonly as modern day people drinking beer at a football game. An entire crowd of thousands of people all tripping on shrooms, watching a guy who is likely also dosed with shrooms getting his heart torn out. The intensity of the event cannot be overstated. Some sacrifices were done on willing volunteers. It's an entire culture built on the idea that pain is to be ignored or at worst simply acknowledged in passing. It was customary before any long journey to eat a ton of shrooms and contemplate your own death. Shrooms are these days the "hippie" drug, but historically and in my own experience shrooms really get you in touch with your own mortality in such an intense way that death doesn't even faze you anymore. Shrooms are used in treating PTSD because of how effective they are in removing the fear response. So when Joe says a bunch of muscled men on mushrooms, I would fear that even more than if they were on meth. Shrooms are an incredible performance enhancer for warriors. I really can't stress that enough. A man on shrooms will run on broken legs if he believes in his cause enough.

Does usada test for shrooms? 😂
@brianjones9780
@brianjones9780 Жыл бұрын
@@nickrodriguez3850 no but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they started doing it one day. It's commonly claimed by people who take shrooms (myself included) that there is an increase in athletic performance from it. Just because usada doesn't ban something doesn't mean it has no effect. It just means they haven't banned it yet. Saying that shrooms have no benefit to physical performance is an appeal to authority fallacy. They don't ban caffeine either for instance, even though caffeine enhances performance. So to claim shrooms don't enhance performance in experienced individuals because the usada hasn't banned them doesn't logically follow.

I always thought Vikings were massive too but actually nearly all of the skeletal remains found of them are about 5'9 , just with thicker bones and more muscle than most people. Of course they got bigger than this, and then you get the monstrously sized humanoids all over the globe# giants etc.... But yeah, most vikings were not very tall, check it out. I was surprised too.
@ChristianR-fx8uy
@ChristianR-fx8uy Жыл бұрын
True, if you look at door sizes from that era, they clearly couldn't have been too huge. In general, Northern Europeans tend to be taller (English, Scandinavian German, Dutch etc.), but this seems to have developed after the viking age. It seems being tall and was a genetic advantage in Iceland for the last few hundred years, probably due to the harshness of the nature and low population (they couldn't get 10 people to push a cart, so they had to use 3).

This is true of course, but it's not so strange that the nords were considered large when the rest of european men were standing at roughly 5'6 on average. I remember seeing a documentary saying that nordic skeletons were about 2-4 inches taller than the anglo-saxons they fought against. Then again my memory is foggy and being scandinavian, I'm pretty biased 😂.

According to most historians and archeologists the bones and skeletal remains found of most "vikings" were around 5'8 to 5'10, and many ended up in England with Danish ancestry which is why many parts of England were under Danelaw. Not many people were 6'9 and 300lbs plus in that time period if any. And there is still no evidence of any of them ever wearing "horns" on their helmets as well.

@@derekwoodcock2510 Still. The Vikings have been pretty fearsome warriors. But I think there is way too much focus on fighting and combat. Infact they did more trading and exploring than actual conquering. They would often also work as sort of mercenaries and they have probably exploited the fear of their enemies due to the fact that they attacked randomly with their raids and seen as "barbarians" to the christans.

It's so hard for me to read this chat. So many sharing such strong opinions yet don't know wtf they're talking about. Yes I agree joe doesn't have all his information straight on this topic but he is correct in what he's saying about the Scandinavian DNA. Due to Iceland's essentially non existent immigration policy they have protected their pure Norwegian bloodline by it not getting watered down by other cultures and races. Anyone who's actually been there can attest to their size. He's not saying they're all as big as Hafthor, but the entire population on average is much bigger and stronger than the rest of the world. The very fact to such a small population has produced so many world strongest men champions and competitors says it all. The other statements he's making about them all being on mushrooms when I'm reality it was only the berserkers that took them which is what put them in their fury mind state and gave birth to the word "berserk".

Viking DNA is not a mixture of different European ancestry. Almost every male during Viking times never even knew what existed outside of northern Europe. Lief Erikson was the first one to discover north America. And a lot of people from those bloodlines never even travelled outside of Scandinavia. Norweigans are a very proud and exclusive people as far as history goes
