@inthefade9 жыл бұрын
+Graham Van Dyke This is very true, but you're facing the best of the best in the UFC. It is the absolute top level of combat sports. I'm hopeful though. I think he'll do well.
@grahamvandyke9 жыл бұрын
inthefade The UFC is putting a massive hypetrain behind him so they have to be careful not to put him against the best of the best too soon. It's risky in this business.
@inthefade9 жыл бұрын
Graham Van Dyke For sure. I hated Lesnar when he first came on the scene, but after a while I realized how insanely athletic he was, and he became a little more humble. It really made me wish that they hadn't pushed the title fight on him so quickly, because he could have been really amazing, especially for the era.
@grahamvandyke9 жыл бұрын
inthefade With Brock they should have spent a couple of years building him up into a competent MMA fighter and not scared of being punched before throwing him straight away into the mix. He could have been a huge force to be reckoned with a reigning HW champ for a long time.

Northcutt has over 300 fights. Granted half of them were Karate tournaments, but he's still had experience fighting. He also fought kick boxing for years. Yes he's young, but he's not just a dojo fighter. He's 3rd degree black belt Tae Kwon Do, 2nd degree black belt Kajukenbo. Kajukenbo is a hybrid system w emphasis on striking and ground fighting. I think is ready for any one in the lightweight division outside of the top 10 of course. His skills are legit.

Brendon says "it's tough man" as a disclaimer to every discussion he engages in. Did nobody ever mention this to him? Are the people in his inner circle taking bets to see if he says it 2000 times a year? "Don't get it twisted though" I like him and his podcast. Another thing I noticed is no matter what weight division he talks about he says the division is stacked with killers or straight up killers. Of course it is, it's the UFC. I think if I just wrote the quote bellow 99% of UFC fans would be able to guess who said it. Don't get it twisted though guys, I like Big Brown. I know it would be tough to do a bunch of podcasts, it would be real tough. Sage has 77 world championships. It's not like he's starting from scratch. He's been training since he was 4. If it takes 10 years to develop a certain level of mastery, he's got 15 years under his soon-to-be belt. Obviously the UFC is another level, but he's no spring chicken when it comes to martial arts. He just needs to mix it up some more with tough talent.
