His style is more like old school ITF or ATA. Whatever you want to say about the pyramid scheme business model of the ATA, they used to teach legit old school taekwondo back in the day. His turning side kick (reverse side kick) is pretty much exactly the same that I was taught about 20 years ago.

@@martyrmessiah3903 You set the kick up with a power jab right hand and then the kick unless your fast and can just kick someone before they can react and this takes timing balance and knowing how not to telegraph your attack or someone coming straight in. I just can't believe an MMA champion in Jorge Saint P was never taught the correct way to kick with power and to chamber the knee and proper balance and to pivot putting your hips into your kicks, this is strange, this means his trainer and master wasn't schooled correctly and wasn't legitimate and maybe had bad trainers themselves. I practice Chinese Gung Fu and know these basic techniques learned as a knew student when I was a kid and when you kick someone they are hurt and fly back hitting the ground and they walk away.

I use to train a 52 kg black belt that would cut you in 2, anytime he landed that kick. If you held a kick shield, it was like a knife plunging into your rib cage, everytime. I also help train a 120kg world power breaking champion. When he landed that kick on a shield, he'd throw you 2m across the room.

I was never a tkd fan, I’ve always respected the power and technique of their kicks. That’s why I’m glad my kenpo instructor brought in a tkd instructor and Jiu-Jitsu guy. What he is saying at 4:51 about "knee up and then a straight line" is what we were taught in Shotokan karate. The only problem I have is the speed factor. If You're not fast enough, You telegraph your kick and it's over. P.S> Thank You for the video and lesson. All the best!
