I agree when I lived in Woodward(NW Oklahoma) my neighbor had several put onto his property and they were loud at times. It sounded like a jet engine. I thought if they ever blew down south they would destroy my house probably hurting my family. They were not what I asked for moving to the country. Sadly I learned they are not a benefit to how much they cost society. They do have their place in small farms but economically they are not conducive to big electrical needs.

They are all around my house, they clean them once a year because of the oil they spew everywhere. Not to mention they spew all over the crops below them too!

They seem majestic and interesting. What are we going to do with them when they’re done? Recycling isn’t an option. Are we progressing? Same for solar farms. Are we progressing or just repeating what we’ve done for centuries?

What about they're only good for a few years and not able to be recycled? For the footprint they have, the amount of energy they produce is negligible.

Yeah, we have them here all over Kansas as well. Rarely ever see them even working and oversized loads constantly clog up and tear apart the roadways.

Not only that but the energy they create isnt even used in Kansas they ship out of state. Sadly they want to put up more just North of my town.

True, but harnessing wind power still seems like a plausible idea. I'm in Texas on acreage and we have to secure everything outside so it's not blown away to damage others property.

If you think they're ugly, you are listen to how noisy they are it's not unusual to be able to hear them 2 miles away of course, living in the country? There's no road noise. You don't have an interstate anywhere by and now it sounds like you have a interstate right by your home and try to sit outside. And all you hear is those 100. And 5 foot blades going whoosh woosh. Whoosh

I'd rather have them. Then, 30 or more acres of solar panels. With the windmills, you can still use the land.

I live right in the middle of a windmill farm in Indiana, I can tell you for a fact, half of these things are standing still majority of the time, not because they are broken, or no wind, but because there is no demand for electricity at that time. A/c power can not be stored so it’s on demand only, and when no demand they are shut down.

Nuclear! Do it right, donit safe. Sure the byproduct is not great but its small and isolated. By far the most efficient, and most clean. There are advancements in converting coal powered plants with nuclear. Steam is steam.

Yall ever see these mfs off the shore? That shits awesome looking And, the ones on land kinda look cool too But, im from the deep south, literally THE least scenic place on Earth No decent sized hills, its soaking wet, bland ass pine and oak trees, and a bunch of little critters that couldnt hurt anybody if they tried. Except snakes. And mosquitoes. And gators. And boar. And spiders. Oh yeah, they do hurt shit Name one cool thing about the deep south that isnt "swamps" or "beaches" bc I dont live near any of that. Well, at least 2 hours away from it. And theres so many trees you cant see the sun til 10 am and you cant see it anymore after about 5 (in the summer) Unless you got a field So yeah, I find everything large and machinistic cool looking, and also any kind of open sky.
