Here is my cover of Joe Satriani's Forgotten Part 2. it was recorded in one take live without any post editing, hence the imperfections and mistakes. I hope you enjoy my cover of the song.
Here I'm using my beloved LTD Elite with EMG 81 and SA set with Axe FX-II using Friedman HBE model with a compressor, Delay and Reverb and John Petrucci's signature pick.

I'm using an Axe FX-II MK-II and the preset is what I purchased from Frank Steffen Mueller called FMS favourite based on a Friedman amp. I tweak it a bit (changed the gain and EQ) to get to this tone, and the guitar is an LTD elite with EMG 81 and SA. I wish I could write music like this!@@richardrichardson6240

I was about 13 when I was introduced to Joe S by my older cousin (19 or 20) We lived on a farm and my cousin got me drunk while listening to this. Every time I hear this I cry. Fast forward 35 yrs. I’m cleaning and sober last 14 yrs. My cousin is living on the streets of east Hastings in Vancouver b.c last umm 20 yrs I think. I posted this song on his facebook saying I miss those times and I miss the guy he was. 😢

Was just a kid the first time I heard this in a beer commercial, super simply, girl walking down the beach, beer pouring...no words needed. I had no idea who it was but I was obsessed to find out, made me pick up the guitar and I'm still playing it 35 yrs later...longest love of my life😁

@@AydinZahedi I'm not a beer drinker and honestly can't remember but it was like OO7 with barley and in the circle was the girl golden swimsuit, walking along the beach, and then the beer filling that circle with a close up shot of it being poured...just with Joe's solo. My older sister got me into metal, gave me some Yngwie albums, along with others. I had discovered Sabbath quite accidently, finding a tape rubbed clear of any writing, that me and a buddy picked up in the road of a camp ground. We played it all night until his mother got mad well after midnight. Took it home and asked my sister if she knew the band. So the desire to play was a combination of those 3 artists and Metallica. Another funny discovery is the old tv guide channel use to just play Jesse Cook instrumentals, and my twin would get enraged at me cuz I use to just put that on to listen, not looking for a show, he use to yell "what are you looking for, just pick something!" I literally would just sit there for hours sometimes trying to pick out what I could.

Thank you my friend :) I wonder about that too, I practiced this song for a whole month and took 20 full takes at least. With my other Joe Satriani video one told me why he disliked and that was because I used the pickup neck instead of bridge. One was that the speed of my bends were different than the original songs. Things like that in general.
