Nice! And for alternate picking, try to play the Thunderstruck parts like that with every note picked and no pull offs. It may take getting used to it, but it´s worth the patience. The same goes for the intro of Be quick or be dead by Iron Maiden. Still having trouble with that one but I´m getting there. (The second time they play that lick in the song it´s faster, quite hard with alternate picking - what´s holding me back is hand synchronization. I can pick at the required speed with my right hand but that gets ruined when my left hand has to press the strings to get the notes. But sometimes I manage to get it. 😀)

I would have to package those up separately. What you could do though is just play with a metronome, or find drum loops at different tempos. On each one of the lesson segments, there is a 'technique checklist' which also lists the bpm of each drum loop. That will at least give you a starting point! How would you use these riffs in different ways in different situations?
@why_the_etude_mattersАй бұрын
@ knowing the intervals and rhythms I would transpose them and insert them into other riffs, licks, or even solos. I’m classically trained, and as such I can work that out and transcribe it in standard notation myself. But maybe your students would make good use of that information. Your approach is solid, and by the homage to the Police on the muting technique one of the greatest riffs of all time.. Peace, love, and music.. .
