Surely Joe must be very proud of Kirk (and Steve, undoubtedly). Yet, he wisely addressed that he treated all of his students equally, and be proud of any achievement they've made. What a guru...

Joe is such a monster guitar player and incredibly humble. Not many guitarists would be able to do Eddie justice on tour... but he can/will

Based on the dialogue, Joe is clearly the most mature personality in that room. He won't let himself be drawn into silly talk. In a way, this project is possibly all a bit unworthy of him in the first place. He isn't seen as a guitar hero's guitar hero for nothing. Howard Stern doesn't appear to grasp that fact. Joe just smiles and carries on.

Satriani taught the best. Steve vai incredible with Alcatrazz ; David lee roth; Whitesnake and his solo stuff incredible. Kirk hammett owes him so much.
