My Joe Spiers customer MB Deluxe in the Key of A with the Todd Parrott tortoise shell comb just arrived today. It's identical to the one in this video. It looks and plays great. Love it!

I have a Joe Spiers marine band deluxe 7 limit Just Intonation. It's easily the best harp I own. I love it. I highly recommend Joe's harps.

About the combs, Todd has been trying to hook me up with one of his custom combs ever since I started lessons with him. That's pretty cool, isn't it? I didn't even know about them until he mentioned it to me that he does that. I knew he was an amazing harmonica player as I listened to his Hill Country Harmonica 2012 performance before my first lesson, but I didn't know this side about him. I guess this is the benefit of having a very mature, sweet guy as your teacher.

Hey Ron, what do you think about Seydel harps? and not just 1847s if you've played Session Steels or Solist Pros.
@Harmonica1233 жыл бұрын
Been over 8 years since I’ve touched one. I recall liking that session steel more than the 1847 but it’s been a while. I’m a Hohner guy all the way!

@@Harmonica123 I can see Hohner peering over your shoulder as you write those words. Haha, just kidding. I love Hohners too. My new fav harp is the Easttop Blues Player. I legit jumped and said Wow! when I played it for the first time, it's that good. Overblows out of the box, perfectly tuned chords and octaves, supremely exquisite.

Did a Google search for "Tod Parrot Harmonica Combs" and got nothing. Any chance they are called something else or sold under another name?
@Harmonica1233 жыл бұрын
Nope he is simply not ready yet. I think he has plans to offer some combs down the line. For now, Blue Moon Harmonicas is the king for combs.

@@Harmonica123 Thanks for the info. I never wanted replacement comb until I saw that one! Super cool dirty vintage vibe and the colors remind me of a vintage two tone sunburst guitar. I'll check Blue Moon out but unless they have the exact same color scheme, I'll just wait. Thanks again for the reply!

@@212sean If you go to Todd Parrott's website and send him a message through the contact tab, you can work with Todd to get a comb that's configured to your harp model. The color in this video is called tortoise shell. It run's about $30 to $35 bucks. He will be posting the comb's on his website soon. He's really cool to work with but is super busy with all the other stuff he's doing these days.

Where can I get replacement reed plates? An official website. I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to find an online source. I've ordered them before but can't seem to find my way back to a reliable site. Looking for Hohner Rocket key of "A".

Hohner sells reed plates for Special 20, Marine Band, and for their MS system. Also, suppliers CAN buy these reed plates from Hohner - don't let them pretend otherwise. Hohner also will sell you single reeds (in packs of five of the same reed). www.hohnershop.com/reed-plates-3/

But meanwhile back in the real world there's no way the majority of us could afford customised Spier's harps in all the keys we play. It's just not feasable. So out of the box one's will need to do for me. I can adjust them. Shouldn't have to tho if they're properly made.
@Harmonica1233 жыл бұрын
I play almost all out of the box harps with no adjustment from Hohner or anyone. Love them.
