Unfortunately the start of this short film is missing. Film shows The Clash performing English Civil War on TV show Alright Now, several number by The Mescaleros at the 100 Club and interview footage with Joe.

I was into the disco scene at age 17 really not for the music just to dance and make out with the disco dolleys. Then I was introduced to the Clash!!!! The world that I thought I knew was no longer. I got to reading more and more of what was not only happening where I lived in conservative south Florida but around the world. The Clash and in particular Joe Strummer changed me from someone selfish into someone selfless! I can never, ever thank you Enough! Joe, the Clash! Sincerely, with the outmost Respect and Love, Nick Lengua Pgh Pa

I found out recently that he was a southpaw, but he learnt to play righthanded on borrowed guitars, and never bothered to relearn. That's why he called himself Joe Strummer: he didn't have the dexterity to pick individual strings, so he just strummed chords.

met joe twice and he proved to me that he never was "i'm the rockstar" joe, but was "real" and not another millionaire, playing the role of the squatter rebel. thanks for influencing my life in so many ways, with "clampdown" becoming my personal mantra. RIP, legend.

wish someone would do another documentry such a legend. it makes you think how easily time can be wasted when the clash split up, and his untimly death. he had so much more to give.

As a teenager in the early eighties, I was slightly confused by the influences from up town. Fortunately, I got to see a vinyl on the shelf at a friend's house. The band was unknown to me, and the title of the album was "Give'em enough rope" Slowly but surely Joe accompanied by The Clash began to influence me and my political views. It's been almost 40 years since he blew away my confusion with his telecaster, and I'm proud to say that I'm still a green lefty.
