I loved this!!!! It's not traditional strictly but it was perfect for the street dance couple's choice!! I think they did exceptionally well considering that they had so many props and so many things could have gone wrong. They gave it their all and they only had two full days of training for two dances, because of illness. I am so proud of them both for doing so well in this dance and also for getting 3rd place in the lindy hop-athon too!! I'm excited to see what they do next 💓

It's a love or hate routine for sure, but I think it's brilliant. Choosing to use that many props, add lifts, put in floor choreo & some breakdance elements was a massive risk & why I think it scored so high despite being a little rough around the edges towards the end. Joe and Dianne's dances are always a very high degree of difficulty, and I really applaud them for absolutely throwing themselves at this rather than going for the safer & easier route (especially considering Joe missed two days of training this week due to illness) The first section with the basketball was super clean & I love the floor choreo starting at 00:42 - really unique & again so smoothly executed! Huge jump from a Quickstep straight to this madness but i've gotta say I wanna see him back in Ballroom Asap, as I think that's where he really shines. Hoping for a Tango for him next!

I’m not from the UK so I’m just a very casual viewer of the clips as they’re uploaded to KZbin and come up on my homepage (and I don’t watch the other contestants or anything) but Joe has just been killing it as an ambassador for KZbin and the KZbin community. There’s been absolutely zero scandal and he’s been working so hard. His dances have been so great and he’s been improving so much. He’s so charming and well received and just a great ‘representative’ for KZbinrs and influencers who are usually confronted with so much criticism and scandal anytime they’re in the traditional media landscape. If there were any skeletons in his closet, the traditional media would have teared him apart first chance they got but he’s clearly just a really good bloke. So proud. Watched him in his early KZbin days and much less now but glad to see him absolutely thriving and being one of the best in the game still after all these years later.

If I see anyone complaining about the dance 🙄🙄 this was a challenging routine so out of joes comfort zone, he could have picked jazz regarding how perfect he was last week BUT he wanted to try something different because for him it isn't about scoring the highest it's about challenging himself and trying everything. He did absolutely amazingly for not dropping anything, so much could have gone wrong and it didn't. To me this was more to the brief than other couple choices who danced street/commercial. So cut him some slack before commenting crap. Jut cause you have no knowledge about a particular dance that doesn't warrant you to talk shit. Considering a certain dance got three 10's no one should be complaining about this. It was in sync absolutely on the beat, it was refreshing.

I'm not protesting I'm giving my strong opinion cause I feel like it needs to be said. I don't personally think he needs to redeem himself that may be your opinion but certainly not mine :) He had no knowledge on street dancing but I feel like he did great.. I'm also stating facts when I say some people have a lack of knowledge on street dancing yet are so confident to call this bad? I don't see how that adds up, joe wanted to try something different something completely out of his comfort zone as all the dances are and he did just that and his feet were quite precise. Don't think people are giving the credit that he deserves especially when missing more than two days of training.

@@oracle3569 His timing and sense of rhythm is really good and of the "novice" male dancers I think he is generally the best (maybe excepting Charles Venn's Samba last week!). Stacey Dooley is incredible and has a great teacher, and I have to say she is doing really well. Joe just needs to commit more to whatever dance he is doing. This evening I think he did well in a difficult style of dance, but often in his dances he seems quite shy/nervous. It's something I see a lot in amateur dramatics etc - someone who could be really good but is just a bit nervous of letting go and committing fully to the role/dance/song/whatever. If he can just throw himself into whatever is in front of him, he will be an even better dancer than he is now (and he is very good already).

Our opinions of Stacey really do differ. What Kevin does is extraordinary really, he creates choreography which instantly makes people forget about the actual dancing. I apologise I just don't see how she's better than the novice bunch?? Her dancing is ungainly, disoriented and loose. The only dance I liked of hers was probably the jive.

Random *opinion* not really related to this very entertaining and fun dance: I feel like Joe and Stacey have gone into this without any hopes or contemplation of actually winning the thing but now they are this far in they just want to stay to the end because they are enjoying it and don't want to let their partners down. They would want to win for Dianne and Kevin. On the other hand, I feel like Faye and Ashley have both gone into this feeling like they could win and desperately want to win. I personally find that off-putting even though they (Faye and Ashley) both seem incredibly nice and are undoubtedly very talented. It's also not necessarily their previous dance experience that puts me off, more their '*performance* in a professional dance setting' which gives them an unfair advantage. Especially these days on Strictly where performance ability counts for an awful lot!

Whoa, another old-school (i.e. 90s) hip-hop routine I see. This looks like a challenging routine. And for those who whined that Kevin loved to use props in his routines, this routine actually has three. The real basketball, then the hand towel, and then the big ball. I think the big ball over-stretched Joe’s ability and exposed him a little as you can see he struggled to keep up with Dianne with that one. Otherwise, it was a decent attempt at his Couple’s Choice, reminds me of Woody Harrison's White Men Can't Jump actually, LOL. I would have like to see him do more jazzy stuff with Street/Commercial and not totally into hip hop, as I think Joe’s an elegant dancer and jazz would show more his class. But hey ho. 8.5 (could have easily been a nine without the big ball boo-boo)

I think the only people that can win this show are Stacey and Joe. Whoever scores higher between them in the final will probably win. ATM I would say Stacey is a fraction ahead of Joe (Stacey's average score is 31.7, Joe's is 31.3). I also think Stacey & Kevin are getting romantically involved. If they reveal their romance in the final, that should win it for them like when Kara & Artem did it many years ago. Even last year Mollie & AJ only got as far as they did because of their romance/chemistry.

I’ve watched this dance at least 4 times a day everyday since it came out. That’s at least 40 times. I love Dianne and joe anyways but this dance is absolutely brilliant. I wish I could do it but I mostly do ballet lol

PHEW I can finally watch it properly without being constantly worried they'd drop something hahah i know nothing about this kind of dancing and yeah sure it's not as obviously aesthetically pleasing but i think he did a great job! People be like "oh he just bounced some balls" do you KNOW how much the addition of props like that would mess me up?! Imagine being nervous and having to throw a basketball and catch one and bounce things and having to think about everything else I'd have just dropped the ball immediately and faceplanted the floor in despair 😂😂 plus i think he lost a couple of days practice with a stomach bug AND they had that blummin' lindeywhatsit hoppadoodle 😂 great work i say! Dianne was awesome in this it suited her!

I really enjoyed this dance! Considering they had less training time this week, and it was a new dance for both of them, I was nervous, but it turned out great. I'm also glad Diannes' mic falling off in the latter half didn't hinder her.

Craigs comments were just confusing to me, I watched this again in slow mo and there was no timing errors with the props that I could see, to be any more in sync would've been almost impossible in my opinion. A 7 was just ridiculous, he under marks Joe pretty much every week and I'm confused why, starting to get a bit ridiculous when his comments are it should've been more 'homeboy'...whatever that means. Darcy also didn't make much sense, she has one critique about his thighs so that meant an 8 not a 9, thought it should've got at least 38, it was an amazing routine, but there we go
