New Orleans, in the 80s, upstairs in a used record store called Record Ron's, took a flyer on this because of Old Flames and Long Black Veil. Transcribed it eventually to CD, now it's on KZbin. Best find we ever made, still wonderful some 40-plus years later.

A performance like this is why I am so opposed to lip synching. This is not as smooth as the lp version, but his more gravely voice here and slight adjustments make it so enjoyable. Neither the live version or studio version is "better" they are just different and both are great.

Thats because this is over seas in Scandinavia. It not him lip syncing. It is the technology used back then to transfer audio and video to this medium. That is really him singing the song at that show. Its just the audio is not synced real good with the video portion of the film. Joe was my friend for years and I remember this show well.

@@richparr280 Thanks for the information, that is so cool that you replied. You misunderstood my comment though. I did understand that he was not lip syncing, and I am glad he was not, because it gave us a different version of the song that was just as awesome as the studio version. I wish your friend was still with us. i often wonder how some people become megastars, and equally if more talented people do not reach that level. How does Garth Brooks become such a big star, and guys like Joe Sun and Gary Stewart, good looking dudes with incredible voices, do not? Do you have any thoughts or insights on that? An aside about Garth. His main impersonator is Dean Simmons. I saw Dean in a Vegas lounge band years ago (Jason Lugo band), and he is incredible. In my opinion, he is impersonating someone less talented than he is.
