Hi, glad you liked it. Check out Part 1 and 3 from the same show if you haven't yet ! It's from a VHS-recording I made of the show when swedish TV broadcasted it after they've discovered it in their vaults some years ago.

Hey Edmund James and Joe had a running battle during their careers. James stole Joe's dance moves and Microphone tricks. Saw em both and for my money Joe was the best.

if james did steal joes moves james in my opinion took it to the next level because james would dance longer than joe did joe would do some nice moves but for the most part he wouldn't

who said he was a bigger star than james brown? all i've said is that he was much more famous back then than later on when people mostly forgot about him. but back in the day he actually gave brown a competition.

Joe was big in his day a bit more polished than James Brown But Brown worked much harder at it.

@goldcoastmm Hi, glad you liked it, but sorry I don't have info on band members. Others ask about them too, I googled on it but can't find info. Have you checked out Parts 1 & 3 from this show? I have also posted some of my favorite Joe Tex audio tracks here.

I know there was some feud between James Brown and Joe Tex, and perhaps it was about dance moves. While I’ve watched a lot of James Brown live, I see moves by Joe Tex that are the same that Chadwick Boseman shows JB working out early in his career. Who copied whom?

joe tex is Fantastic! i am not sure if he came first or james brown did

Dimitri Deharak , Joe Tex originated the microphone acrobatics and James Brown took it for his own. Joe Tex was bitter at James Brown for years. Accordingly to singer Marva Witney's book, they had a very competitive and volitile professional relationship. Marva Witney was one of James Brown's featured singers and love interest.

Joe Tex was NOT a bigger name in 1969 than James Brown! That's even ridiculous to even say. James Brown was the biggest black artist in the world at that time. As a matter of fact, Joe Tex, who was a great performer in his own right, was never a bigger star than James Brown.
