Venuti's orchestras, throughout the years, has always been the ones that's been pulling the tunes into the enthusiastic, frantic musical mind of the travelling studio musician's insight on how music should be performed. And judging by how most everyone in the scene listened to, requested, and enjoyed his work, its safe to say that anyone would appreciate his music at the time. Especially at the Onyx Club. Even if most listeners prefer other versions, it is doubtful the leaders disliked any of his recordings..

I don't dislike it, on the contrary. I appreciate it very much. It's different. I like that I can properly hear the vocal refrain, what is being said, crystal clearly. Thanks for the background. This is a leader that I've just heard about.😌

@OLD_SOUL1900 if you listen to much of the 20s artists like Whiteman, Trumbauer, Bix, Red Nichols, and plenty of studio recordings into the 30s, you will soon start to hear the unmistakable violin of Venuti. He was all over the place.

@@CPorter Really?? '20s and '30s is practically all that I listen to and love. That's amazing! The violin has always been a favourite, love Jascha Heifetz...anyhow, again my thanks! I'll be doing some digging and re-listening, which I don't find bothersome at all!😁 Say, do you have any top notch Venuti recommendations for me?🤔

@@OLD_SOUL1900 Not heard of Heifetz, but I really love Fritz Kreisler and Rosario Bourdon. As for Venuti, one of my all time favorites is Joe Venuti & His New Yorkers - Out Of Breath (And Scared To Death Of You) from 1930. Also I highly recommend you check out the channel "Prozoot", which has a lot of stuff involving Venuti, and his guitarist partner Eddie Lang.
