This movie is one of my all time favourites. Whenever the world is dragging me down, I watch this movie so that I feel alive and uplifted again.

John Patrick Shanley got it right, the vast majority of people are asleep, only the few are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement. The former dismiss this as a B movie, the latter meanwhile see it for the true masterpiece that it is.

I really like this movie. I rewatch it often. The boat scenes and NY scenes in particular are my favorites.

Props to Spielberg and Hanks for being the true champions of this movie. I hear Warner Bros wanted to run a lot of interference but they defended Shanley's vision. It's too bad this movie isn't more popular than it is, but it's recognized as a masterpiece by those of us who understand its message.

I thought this one was the best film with the pairing of Hanks and Meg Ryan. Sleepless in Seattle was overrated.
