Anyone here in 2024? Had a day like this today. May your days be happier and filled with abundance, ❤ I love Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan duo. Thank you for this movie. It was one of my favorites growing up.

As someone who used to work at an Amazon warehouse, my God could I ever relate to this. Thank God I’m at a much better place of occupation

I used to work at UPS. Lord knows it was relatable there too.

I worked in a medical factory in my twenties when this movie came out. I felt like this every morning on my way into the building. This scene struck me harder than it did most others. : )

Ever had that job that felt more like punishment than an occupation? You know the one. That job that makes you hate life from the moment you open your eyes after a night of fearing having to go to bed, cause you're already dreading the next morning. That scene reminds me of that time in my life. I get angry and sad at the same time, every time I watch it.

Yootub Apesta I understand. I had a job that made me cry every morning before work. I hated it so MUCH and dreaded going in.

@@rose13red I agree. I think the only really good thing about a particular soul crushing job(s), for me personally anyway is that they can eventually "encourage" you to find anything better.

This song, at least the Tennessee Ernie Ford version, was a favorite of my Cousin Al would died at Que Son in 1967, Stevie Wonder also did a version of it 1966 as well as many other people. This film was a personal favorite of mine when I was in the Army back in 1990, Eric Burdon does a better version of it than Stevie in my opinion because Eric has that deep alcohol fried voice like the original version, but Stevie's voice is just too high pitched to really carry it off. Its the perfect theme song for the start of this movie, which is about as depressing as you can imagine which sets it up for the typical Tom Hanks blockbuster finish, I've never seen a Tom Hanks movie I didn't love.

I have this dvd. Reminds me of life. Seeing that flower would bring me hope. I think that flower, for me, represents the Light and Hope (in a dark, dreary, sad, unfair world), which is God and Jesus and His Holy Spirit. He's my Hope when life burdens me. I hope others will know Him as their Hope and Savior, Jesus the Messiah: King of kings, and Lord of lords. He's my Rose.
