One of my favorite Joe Walsh stories is the one he tells about how he decided to play guitar. He was watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and his head was bobbing up and down. Then he looked at his parents on the couch and their heads were shaking from side to side...and the rest is history! As far as the Eagles, he wasn't a founding member. One of the funniest Joe Walsh moments I ever saw was not musical. It was on a HBO special starring Drew Carey that was basically an amped up version of Who's Line Is It Anyway. Joe was doing the music for the show but for the last improv game, they recruited him to play too. The gist was they would start with a topic and then each person would add one line to the story. I think the topic was euthanasia, and they were going down the line, Joe was near the end, and the person before him said something like, "And they found out he died from..." and Joe goes, "Brain worms!" It was so unexpected that the audience just blew up laughing.

Joe Walsh is from Wichita KS - after a devastating tornado in the Wichita and Andover Kansas area in 1990 he gave a benefit concert - It was a Great Concert and a Great thing for him to do!

Joe Walsh is one of the greatest guitar players to pick up a pic. I first heard him, or started listening to him, the week I turned 18. I was spending the summer at my cousins house. His father hired me to paint the house. But anyways, my cousins loved Joe Walsh and played him all day and all night. If you watch the lead in to "Hotel California" on their latest tour, "Hell Freezes Over" tour, you can hear him do a solo performance that's out of this world. Thanks for keeping the entertainment going. Loved this one.

Joe is amazing - and has lived two lives. He's a humble man now, and thanks the guys he's close to for helping him get clean. As he said, "I only got drunk once....for 20 years". Love Joe!

Joe is definitely not “from” the Eagles. He was a legit star in his own right, both as a solo artist and as leader of The James Gang, well before the Eagles recruited him to give their flaccid sound some actual balls. They were all musicians long before The Eagles. Each was a big name. I love The Eagles but it was a shit storm behind the scenes. Reminds me of The Beatles. Went exactly the same way, two got it in their head that they were bigger than the rest instead of playing as an actual group

Joe Walsh came out of The James Gang, then he became simply, Joe Walsh. But when Joe Walsh joined up the The Eagles, his guitar influence was so strong, that they almost didn't sound like the old Eagles before Joe came on board. I saw Joe Walsh and The Eagles live back in 1976 - GREAT SHOW!

Joe initially made a name for himself as the driving force of the James Gang. "Funk #49" by them is a must listen. Then he went solo where this is probably the most well known song by him then. He only joined the Eagles later, after they had already made several albums and gotten famous. Great reaction, J!
