In with my paracord, film canister fishing kit, Swiss Army knife, a magnesium fire starter with a compass in the end, two silvery survival blankets, a puzzle book, blank book and pencil, a first aid kit, a heavy jumper and socks, and a roll of loo paper. In a backpack in the boot of my car. Which is like a bunker that can travel for a short time.

Well, I feel powerful. I clicked twice. I've always been a fan of Mr. Mitchell. Glad to know I can still see him beyond Peep Show and Would I Lie to You, the British game show, not the song by the pop duo The Eurythmics. My only criticism: too damn short. Dave, the internet is for long form. Half an hour to two and a half hours. None of this silly eight minutes nonsense.

Why has there been no David Mitchell backlash? Every other popular celeb peaks and then, inevitably, the media turns against them, the peasants buy into it and the celeb’s career reaches a nadir. They spend a few/several years in the ‘wilderness’ of unpopularity, only to spring back, reborn and more popular than ever. David Mitchell is at saturation point and has been for years, seeming to be on all media, all of the time. Yet no backlash. Amazing.
