Hey dude, loving the footage in this. I've been telling myself lately I need to get back into the storytelling, and travel side of the "travel photography" and this was great inspiration to get there.

Can’t get enough of the interactions you have with locals! Osaka seems so different from my experiences in Tokyo!! 😅
@joeallam18 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yeah, the longer I spend here the more the differences stand out to me and the deeper I get. I still love Tokyo though - friendliness is just presented differently between the two ✌️

Joe, I saw your video pop up on my sub feed while I was commuting and had to stop myself from watching. Your videos are one of those the only ones where I need to go sit down and watch it on a monitor or screen that does it justice. My phone is fine, but I feel like I am doing you a huge disservice :) cheers!

Much appreciated, thank you! I totally get the feeling and have multiple channels I also watch in the same way. As a creator though, I know it kinda hurts the channel a little if the click isn't made and then it's potentially forgotten altogether 😅 Grateful for the support all these years nonetheless!

I love these videos. I get to see bits of Japan I wouldn't normally, you are always a celebrity to the locals and it shows how friendly they are. Also, are we going to be seeing a video on the Hasselblad?
@joeallam18 күн бұрын
Cheers, Chris! I love how friendly it is here - really helps with improving my Japanese as well! Yes, you'll be seeing the Hasselblad on the channel quite a bit, for sure. Currently planning a trip to catch some of the Autumn leaves with it - they should be turning in a couple of weeks!

Talk about timing Joe! We are currently in Osaka and after watching this last night and knowing we were going to a Team Labs exhibition which was close to the Japanese Gardens we managed to find the time to give them a visit. I’m so glad we did they are unbelievable, we have been to a few gardens on this trip but none as good as this. Thanks for the tip Joe. 👍

I agree about the lack of nature sound in parks and stuff. You have to get deep into the mountains before you start hearing nature more. As for Osaka friendliness. Yeah, I love it. Me, I couldn't live there, my personality is too quiet to handle it all the time. Tokyo to live, Osaka for fun visits works well for me.
@joeallam14 күн бұрын
Yeah, it really just hit me a couple years back when I saw the sunrise and there were trees nearby but no bird sounds. I grew up with plenty of blackbirds and other jolly birds singing in my garden - I think it's one of the few things I really miss from the UK.

There is a Swiss man working as a Katana smith in Japan. He is the only foreign katana smith in Japan.It might be fun to interview him.

That’s pretty cool! Although I have to say he wouldn’t be the only foreign one, as I met an American just a couple weeks ago in Seki City making Katanas. Still impressive though!
