Catching Mudbugs in the flooded river using fish heads for bait. Zachary comes over for the day and we make a camping box and have a nice BBQ. Only two traps set and yet we got our highest catch numbers to date.

Thanks Jeff. I think he brought me good luck. I just came in from fishing up at the Tent. I caught one Northern pike but I threw it back. It is really a nice day up here.

3:30 fantastic Cook Box. I would of kept the same style of cook box as your original (3:45) but used lighter shelving material. It is awesome to see vids of family getting the projects done together. Awesome Score with the fish head Bait for Crawdads. Amazing !! ;-))

I would consider that an exvellent haul for abt 45 min to an hours worth of work with only 2 traps Joe. I'm gonna start building some traps myself for next year here in Texas. Keep up the good work.

If I would have had the smaller mesh size down in LA I would have got bigger numbers. You can tell that I have quite a few smaller ones up here in MN but you are correct, I am getting way highr niumbers here. Thank You. Joe

That was amazing! I want to remind you how much would you have if you had em all out lol! I think you should make a bug box trap and put it in that spot that you got the most out of. The box trap will double your haul! Also awesome boxes you, Zach have made there I may even make one myself lol. Cant wait for the next video! As always buddy EP1K

The side boards are just your regular 11 1/4 inch tall boards. Zachs is made of cedar and mine is redwood. The plywood on the top and bottom is 3/8 thick. The depth front to back total is 12 inches and I think the width side to side is 16 inches. The tray is made out of regular 3 1/2 inch boards, pine. The center one with the handle is 4 1/4 inches tall. the box tray also has a 3/8 inch plywood bottom. The boards that are down in the box to catch the tray is set down 4 3/4 inches. By doing that the top will never sag from it being used as a chair and stuff because the lid can ony sag down 1/8 of an inch before hitting the top of the handle on the tray. The opening that makes the tray handle is 5 inches wide and 1 inch tall and is set down from the top of the board 1 inch. All the "boards" are 3/4 inches thick. Its easy to write but I am not sure if you it will be as easy to picture in your head as it is mine since I JUST made the box LOL. If you have any questions just let me know. Thank you. Joe

I minnow trap will work just fine BUT.... Here in Minnesota and down in Louisiana it wouldnt be legal. Mesh size here in MN is 1/2 inch by a half inch or bigger. Down in LA it is 3/4 inch by 13/16 of an inch or bigger. Maybe your minnow trap is that big but most of the time they are a quarter inch square. Thank you. Joe

Joe years ago i caught and sold crawfish to a bait shop he would dump them into the minnow tanks with the minnows so you might try a tub or bucket full of water with some bait for food . just a thought from a hillbilly from Arkansas

Thank you. I think that would work well if I had a areator in there. I may have to do that so a person can do a 3 day soak and have enough for a nice Cajun boil. Thanks again. Joe
