There's too much competition for music these days. Millions of new songs are added to the universe every year. KZbin and all the other apps are growing in daily users. There's only 24 hours in the day. I hop in the car and listen to podcasts these days. People who do music need to understand and adapt just like everyone else.

There are thousands of applicants for most good paying jobs, you gon stop applying if that job is in alignment with your passion/dream? Real musicians make music regardless of circumstances . I recorded a whole album stationed in Mississippi. I drove 10 hrs to Dallas and back every other weekend to go to the studio for 6 months. When you have a true passion. You will never quit.

@@jasminedtuckerdid you release that album? The difference is, they not making music as passionate as they did in the beginning when they were hungry. They are making music just to chart on radio. Artists like Prince, MJ, Stevie made music regardless if they released it or not. Lots of artists doesn’t have that passion anymore because of how the industry robs artists.

I’m 33 and can rap my ass off . Two red flags . I’m “old” and “unknown” . I don’t walk inside the studio tryna make hits to get rich and gain 1m followers , I make music because I’m good at the shit and love to do it 😂 . Ppl without musical talent don’t understand this

But the radio stations still playing the same five artists. Taylor Swift, Drake, and the same random party songs we've heard for the past 20 years 😅. I enjoy Spotify cause I get a wide array of good artists. The wealth needs to be shared vs concentrating it among the top three guys in every space.

@@jasminedtucker That sounds good but not all musicians can't all occupy the billboard 100. If you have kids or even family who depend on you it's not feasible long term. The harsh stats is the creative industry is very low compared every other industry. Hope that you find success in whatever you do but don't put yourself in a box you could be more successful running an online store or some other business venture.

It was dying since mp3 files became the to transfer music. Remember back in the day the the only way to hear a full album was having the disc or a concert. When music got turned into files and uploaded, artist started uploading their whole album. You cant not really sell music when buying is only a suggestion. None of have to pay anything.

Damn my mans why you had to send shots at Cardi?? I understand she has had her fair share of time on and with Love & Hip-Hop( Many artists have, Budden included), and thus that was a good portion of people's first introduction to Cardi B,thus forming their individual opinions of her based off the Character and Woman portrayed in the show.However with that being said, any antics and or "shit done/said for hype & ratings" for the show doesn't take away from her ultimate goal(s) nor does/should it discredit her rapping ability which she proved over time . Her album was good especially for such a new artist at that time and she's got some bars. Ill.end this with the fact that any fan of cardis music is well aware of her albums(Mixtapes) that came out well b4 her mainstream success with Bodak Yellow

Y’all are saying you want fire music but keep forgetting that the money needed to really make that fire doesn’t exist. Purely from a business standpoint, the music isn’t making enough money to justify the costs of making fire. Y’all can complain about the quality of the music but the fact of the matter is there isn’t enough money coming in to justify spending what is needed to make fire. We’re all at fault for this to some degree or another. Do I want artists to make the best stuff they can make? Hell yes! Will they? Probably not because the ends don’t justify the means. If you don’t have the pockets of Joe Budden or the budgets of Drake, JayZ, and Eminem and all the other household names then you’re doing some mediocre shit most of the time because the money isn’t there to spend time locked away in a studio for weeks and weeks while you work on ideas uninterrupted. Granted that’s assuming we’re talking about actual artists and not 15 minute fame chasers and most of what’s out there now it’s just fame chasers who never wanted to be in music but are using it as a vehicle to do other stuff.

Ish always seems to be in his corner to make it seem like Drake has just been this amazing guy helping everyone behind the scenes for no benefit to himself at all which probably isn’t the case at all. We quite literally don’t know who Drake REALLY is. Obv we as the public could never really know the truth behind him. But Joe hit the nail on the head when he said “he can’t be himself”. My theory is that drake has never put his real foot forward when working with people outside of his immediate camp and that’s what has rubbed artist the wrong way, so it’s not just that he’s corny it’s that he tries to make it seem like he’s not corny. Sometimes you have to own who you are to be accepted by people. In drakes case he probably just rubbed a lot of people in the industry the wrong way but they couldn’t do or say anything about it because he was a cash cow at the time

You could have a hit record with just the right producer and the right backing/money behind you, and how the label wanted to push you, and get you plenty of radio air time. You also have to do certain things(xxx) to get access to the label wanting to make you a star, as we are seeing with the like of P Diddy. All the truly talented people told Diddy “NO”…

I agree with Joe on Drake being bad with cerebral emcees. In both bouts he had with Push/Kendrick, his technical raps are on par with them, but it's the next level of thought that ultimately leaves Drake in the dust.
@onyxonyx4744
@onyxonyx4744 2 ай бұрын
His battle raps are BETTER than them. What you mean is, Pusha and Kendrick use 'shock value' content to disguise the fact that they CAN'T keep up with Drake lyrically and only people who Rap and don't have a weird vendetta against him can see this. If Kendrick doesn't make a hit record he loses this EASILY perception wise even with all of the Drake hate.
@TheReelRapNerd

@onyxonyx4744 I disagree. A battle rap is more than just being able to rap good. It's also about angles you take alongside rapping good. Calicoe vs Loaded Lux is the best example.

Drake been on a streak of sneak dissing and even directly taking shots at people for years. But he’s especially been on a sneak diss marathon for his past two albums, Her Loss and For All The Dogs. Drake is far from innocent, what you feeling sorry for him for? It honestly makes wonder if these people even listen to lyrics.
