God gave us a sense of humor- he MUST have one Himself, as we are designed in his likeness. Some of the things He does in the Bible are too funny to be coincidental, such as when He has the mule speak to its rider or when He has the defeated king make a peace treaty that was way more giving than simply allowing the Israelites through his lands unharmed, as was initially requested.

Deuteronomy 22: 28 ‘If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.’ Why did god force women to marry their abuser?
@bhavikshilodhiya357613 күн бұрын
@@anonymous.anonymity. Good question. Let me ask you my one question now, if you were born in a time when wars were common and marrying many queens and keeping concubines were not unusual things, and you were a warrior in an army at that time, would you have any guilt in your heart for killing 100 men of the rival king with your sword? Not at all, in fact it would be considered an accomplishment both by you and your colleague warriors which is considered wrong today. Similar is this case, in the older times the father of the rape victim pleaded to the rapist to marry his daughter. I have noticed that even till this day this happens in many rural parts of India ( I'm an Indian). The point is, a lot of things were right in the past ( because of the hardened hearts of the people of that age ) and are wrong now, and a lot of things were wrong in the past and right now. Virginity of women was considered a sign of purity, and body count more than one was considered a sign of shame, thus the fathers of rape victims wanted rapists to marry there daughters as they would be considered a sign of shame if they married another man despite of the fact that the rapists lack self-control, are violent and risky as a husband. If you tell a terrorist - ' loving others is good ' , you'll sound foolish to them because of their hardened hearts. Similarly, God knew what would sound foolish, so instead he allowed this because of the hardened hearts of the people of that age. God detests murder and adultery. He fulfilled the law through is son Jesus who said - Love your enemies.

I'm going through a similar thing. I just started reading again, from the beginning. I have tried this several times throughout my life, and it reads different every time. I'm not exactly coming into it this time with a peace or calmness though. I'm trying to get back on track, but there are questions. I thought I would read a chapter a day. That lasted for the first week. Then I just read until it was time to go to work. In this case, I may have put away five or six chapters. None of that is the curious part though. Whats curious is that I am frustrated by most of what I'm reading (still on Genesis, by the way), yet I am compelled to keep reading. I should be discouraged by what the word is saying to me this time around, yet despite my aggrevations, its holding on to me. I'm looking at the fallacies of civilizations being born of two people. I'm questioning the entitlement and loyalty to Abraham and his sons while the rest of the world seems forgotten about. I never saw this in previous readings. It never struck me. It sounds like I'm being skeptical, and maybe I am, but I'm compelled to keep reading. I'm hoping to make peace with this as I keep reading.

The difference is that we believe the he was a messenger sent by god(Allah), but not his son, as it is impossible for god(Allah) to have a child. Also we believe that it was not Jesus on the cross, it was the one who outed where Jesus was to the enemy . God(Allah)felt bad for Jesus so god (Allah)made him(the traitor) look exactly like Jesus and He took Jesus up to heaven. When the enemy’s came they thought that he was Jesus so they tortured him and hung him up on the cross. (I’m not sure if this is 100% correct it’s just what i have learned over the years.

Jesus never said "I am God" in the Bible. The belief in the Trinity emerged in the 3rd century AD. Islam was sent because Christianity had been corrupted. There are thousands of abstract and concrete scientific evidences proving Islam to be the true religion. The Quran is a miracle in itself, containing no contradictions. Hey little one, God will guide you if you keep praying and trusting in Him. Don't worry we are all kids. God is our Father! We all struggle with sin and earthly feelings and things. I am having a lot of issues aswell but I trust in Him so one day I may be freed from these sins and disease. I'm not young but also not old, but I can tell you I experienced a lot for my age. My biggest advise: Keep praying to Jesus Christ everyday and read a good version of the Bible that you will understand . Lord Jesus Christ is the son of God and died for our sins but rose from the grave on the 3rd day!! If you believe that you will be saved. And it trouble and struggle comes, well we all have to carry our own problems but He will help them carry for you and comfort you!

Can I share an awesome testimony with y'all? I just want to tell everyone what God has done for me. Several months ago, I was praying and really pouring my heart out to God. I prayed and gave the promise of my great great grandfather and our forefathers. I said I wanted to serve Him until my last breath. That I wanted His will for my life and that my life would bring Him glory. Well, yesterday a bunch of people got laid off from my work. Except for me, and this was my verse of the day, "Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV [9] “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments. " God is better to me than I will ever deserve. Praise Him, the great I Am, the creator and Master of the universe.

Awesome testimony let me share mines with you. Few years of becoming a follower of Christ the enemy started to attack me he showed me all the sins I did in my entire life and told me that God will never accept me in heaven. I started praying begging for forgiveness and felt trapped in guilt. I told myself I will go to church and ask the pastor to pray for me. When I went to church a brother in christ said on the mic 🎤. Jesus is telling me that there’s someone here Idk who it is but He told me to tell you theres no sin I won’t forgive. After hearing that I felt free and fell to my knees in tears I felt like Jesus broke the chains of guilt I had. That same night the enemy wanted to attack again and I felt the love of God and it was so wonderful that I ran outside with my arms up high repeatedly saying thank you Jesus I love you.

[Edit: I guess I created a war below😬] Deuteronomy 22:28-29 New International Version If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.-source bible gateway. Can you explain this bro?
@01ARA7 ай бұрын
It's an appalling translation by the NIV, compare the KJV rendering "If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found...". This is speaking of a consenting couple ("they be found" implies both were equally culpable) engaging in fornication. This is not in any way, as some try to argue, the Bible condoning rape. If you aren't convinced, take a look at the preceding passage (Deut 22:25-27) which explains the penalty for rape is death. Hope this helps.
@kevingarcia89227 ай бұрын
@@AjAb7555The NIV is a decent translation to read for beginners, but once you've read it and compared it to other translations, you'll notice the flaws. I read my Bible in Spanish RV and the verse does not imply "rape" but it implies the man took the woman, like in adultery. For English, I would suggest ESV. Ultimately, you should never judge a book by a single sentence or paragraph. You should judge it by its overall content. If you've read the Bible in its entirety and understood the events taking place, you would know that "rape" is an abomination to the Lord.

So much evil was in the world, and God knew that not just any sacrifice could forgive our terrible actions. So he decided to fix it himself. He came to earth as a man (Let me remind you HEAVEN WAS NOT EMPTY) To be the final sacrifice so that we may be forgiven for our sins. He was and is a sinless being that at the time was truly fit for this role. I don't know if my faith will lead me to heaven, but I want to believe in Jesus! nice to hear that man, i suggest you check out stories from Genesis and Daniel as those are a few of the most "story book vibes" book in the Bible. Do take your time to read them as well since a recurring theme in the Bible is that just 1 chapter can be extremely deep and jam-packed with action and wisdom. i remember spending almost 2 hrs in a coffee shop pondering upon Genesis 1-3 as it really is that deep. Much love fam.

@istandinawe63197 ай бұрын
@@bigzachful the scriptures say that His children hear his voice. You are correct in there being different voices, but it only becomes clearer when we study His word. The Bible IS God’s inspired word. It’s not different than you recognizing your on parents voice. You know your mom’s voice from the womb. You spent countless years knowing and able to predict a move, stance on a problem, things that make them happy or sad. However, if we don’t spend time with God (Bible/prayer/worship), we can’t possibly discern who’s talking because you didn’t spend to know that God wouldn’t tell us to kill ourselves, or steal, etc. It is in the personal relationship that you build ability to discern his voice from other entities. Many make the mistake of relying only on Sunday morning preaching suffice for knowing scripture. It’s much deeper than that. Hope this helps.

People (including how I used to be) will say that God is silent, but their Bibles are closed. God has given us His *Word* to *Speak* to us. It's the Living Word of God. The Bible is the sword that we carry into battle daily. If you don't read, how are you going to defend yourself against the principalities and powers and false doctrines that bombard us each day? Want to grow in Christ? Read the word. Pray to the Father. It's simple, so why don't we do it?
@megb68207 ай бұрын
@@John3_16-17perhaps because too many try to read it in their own strength and understanding. I encourage anyone wanting to read the Bible to ask Holy Spirit to increase their hunger for the Word, and to help them as they read. That is one of the reasons he (Holy Spirit) was sent. He also empowers us to understand, and then to do all that Jesus commanded us to do. Christians need the baptism in and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to truly live the Christian life. Acts 1:4-5,8 NASB Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; [5] for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” [8] but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
