I know ronnie write this song about his daughter and not being home with her. He said in an interview -"This video is an analogy of the dichotomies between my personal life and my public life - a lonely traveler content on fulfilling the dreams he set out on, but missing out on everything he has at home. A bittersweet duality." It is a beautiful so ng that has come to mean a lot to me personally and I'm glad to see more people react to it cuz it does get overlooked all the time. Thank you joeE

Ronnie wrote down in his book that he had been working on this song (not the whole album, THIS song only) for about 2 years. I just wanted to add this to "Ronnie knows what he's doing" :)) he does, indeed. I always tear up at the scene when he enters into the atmosphere and burns 🥲 Thank you for this reaction, I liked it a lot!

He wrote it for his daughter Willow. She is also in some of his videos. So she knows from a young age what her father does and why he has to leave her every now and then, but he will always come home to her. He knows, through his mother, what it feels like to be abandoned and he doesn't want his daughter to ever have to feel that. He assures her that no matter where he is, he is always with her and will never leave her. Many fathers did not have this opportunity and had to leave their beloved children behind. My older daughter is one of those kids and I wish he would come home to her every damn day, but he won't, because he was killed when she was still little. I want the song for my funeral because my death is a “coming home” for me. Simply a beautiful song 🖤🎶🎧

This whole album was different from his "usual" in his own words it flopped and thats why he hasnt done a full album release since and hes been killing it with the singles. I know you do these reactions from videographers prospective so a song without a video isnt as intriguing but "carry on" is a phenomenal song with really powerful message and lyrics. he almost didnt release it. It was meant to be on the same album as this song but is got cut and was later released as a single. But if no video is a deal breaker at least listen to it on your on and I'll suggest "Chemical Prisoner"
