This will definitely help me get to where I need to be. I have okay quality, but after a certain amount of time, my frames will just go to shit. They'll drop nonstop until I reset stream and it's so frustrating. AT&T need to get a fiber plan out here where I live so I can stream scot free.

use a source mirror to duplicate the gameplay. then just add a blur filter to the game. + an image mask

okay video .. thanks for explaining the nerd stuff, i'm college educated so it's nice to understand the tech behind what i'm trying to accomplish; however, since i'm attempting to stream on garbage internet, i would've really enjoyed it had you went a bit more in-depth into the progression specs .. would've been nice to get both the theory and practice .. amazing cat btw

Yes will people watch a min 720p game stream on 1.5 mbps or 480p good quality 1.5 Mbps , I use to stream on 720, looked fine but when you play fps it was pixelated so I changed to 480p and fps look nice but not as crisp as 720p, when I improve my internet next year then I go for 720 again but till then is it worth while streaming in 480p on twitch ?

All mine did was lag, it sucks, im trying to start an SMP, but since the internet doesnt work, most of the SMP has been done off camera

Would you be able to do something similar but for recording on OBS? I record lets plays on my other YT channel. I don't know if its my machine or if its games updating or obs updates. But over the last month or so I'm finding i am dropping frames and lagging when say for example Division 2 gets a bit intense. These where fine at the start of the year how ever.
@JoeHickson3 жыл бұрын
A higher bit rate for recording gives higher quality yes. Though if your dropping frames it may be due to your pc not being able to handle compressing all the data. May be worth running a few tests to see what bit rates give you stable performance
@LukeBlueShoesOsborne3 жыл бұрын
@@JoeHickson Hey Joe thanks for the reply, TBH I think it was a mix of both those things. Played with some settings in OBS and when i dropped the fps down in the game it started to work better without dropping quality. So i think it is sorted... sort of. Will have to test it a bit more vigorously with a story mission or something where the game has to load more data.

I find my streams look awful if I drop below 5,000kbps for 1080p60, hopefully this will help.
@JoeHickson3 жыл бұрын
Maybe worth dropping down to 720p60 or 1080p30 :)
@OmairArif3 жыл бұрын
If your streaming full screen, high motion games (such as an FPS) I would recommend just sticking to 720p60 (or 1080p30 if resolution is more important to you). Even Twitch's max of 6,000kbps struggles to keep up in those situations.
@jamescollins60853 жыл бұрын
@@JoeHickson Thanks for the advice, I'll give 720p60 a go. I used to have to go all the way to 10,000 on KZbin to get good quality on racing games. That's no problem for me, but I'm aware that Twitch is quite conservative with their bandwidth requirements.
