Love the honesty and tough love. I was nervous at first. When you started to talk about a list of 32 things, and started getting a bit (politely) tough, I knew there would be some tough pills to swallow. But I did watch to the end, and I did take on board what you had to say. I'm glad to say that while I'm only doing about 15 of these right now, I can see the areas I need to improve. I can see how to improve. And after seriously contemplating the tough pills, I do not believe they are game/enders for me. This has boosted my overall confidence while highlighting things I need to work on. Thank you.

I really appreciate this breakdown; it's far more damaging to set unrealistic parameters and expectations for something than to face the facts surrounding the desired outcome, in this case, being seen, followed, and recommended to other viewers. I'm currently in that camp of hesitation, but that's a general problem I have with most things, something I'm working on. It's nice to see direct answers to complex questions. Thanks for this.

As an Autistic person I really struggle with most 'how-to' guides because they're not actually good. They're super vague, saying things like 'learn to market yourself' or 'talk constantly'. Which are fine tips for people who don't need explicit instruction to actually understand what needs to be done. This video was immensely helpful as it had specific things within those categories that I can actually action. I've had some pretty decent growth already, but this will really help me go that step further. Thank you

I think you need to know what you want, what hope and what you can do, in order to do what you can, try to achieve what you want, still aiming for what you hope ;) And thanks Eljayem for all the advices I won't follow :p , I really enjoy your work

I think the biggest problem is, that many beginners don't watch their own stuff. Sometimes out of laziness, sometimes because they are aware of the fact, that they just sat there, stonefaced, doing nothing other than playing the game, while not saying a word. All you need to do, is search those streamers with 0-2 viewers. It's just sad, because some of them genuinely seem like pleasent, friendly guys... So to all of you out there. I think, one of the most important tips in this video is to ENTERTAIN. Don't look at the numbers. Just be you. Be silly. Make jokes. Sooner rather than later, someone will be in your stream, in your chat and be laughing with you. Oh and quick note: This channel helped me alot to take a step back and look on what I can improve on. So. Thank you for being out there, providing us little ones, with some really life altering tips!

4:00 very important! Once I started playing a less competitive game (Skyrim). It changed everything. I went from feeling boring and hopeless to having a lot of fun. Here's what I did for my first successful stream with legit 10 followers and no viewers to sum up the first 4 minutes of the video. I went from playing csgo to skyrim. The idea for the stream I had was play the game but put in mods and change the mods I was using throughout the stream. The title had 2 engaging keywords; Mods and 12 hour stream. I think the title was something like: 12 Hour Stream! Ruining Skyrim By Adding Random Mods. And lastly I kept talking, even if it wasn't to a viewer and there were ZERO periods of silence. You stop talking for legit more then 2 seconds you'll start dropping off I know we're told no one likes a chatterbox but with streaming it's a must! Once I combined all those things I had a solid 12 hour stream were I averaged 12 viewers and peaked at 21 and got 20 followers that stream. I wanna get back into it even for just 1 or 2 days a week for 4 hours, time is my biggest enemy right now.

Thanks for all the tips. The past month I have really been struggling with what my next step should be. #32 was exactly what I needed. This week my goal was to work on a lot of things I know need changing, but I was afraid that I need to keep going live and not take that time off to readdress some things. It gets hard to fix things when you constantly need it stable to go live. It also made me realize something else. Another struggle I believe I've had is understanding what roles I fulfill. Hearing all those roles has helped me embrace some new things going forward. I sometimes wondered if I was doing too much. I just wanted to say thank you for making this. And thank you for not sugar coating it all. That ending bit about stopping if things just aren't going right and taking the time to see what's going wrong was very reassuring. I'm aspiring to be a streamer and content creator myself and I've been dreaming of it for 8 years. But I've finally managed the courage to stop dreaming and try to pursue this dream and try my best with the understanding that failure is very much the likely option. But learning now that there are plenty of ways to increase those odds just a bit more and plenty of ways to use my analytic brain to see what can be improved and try again if things go wrong. This video gave just little egg of hope to push myself out of the crippling fear of making the final steps of pushing myself over that limit and finishing my step to be ready to stream. So Once Again. Just Thank you.

Dude thank you so much for you content. I started streaming one week ago and already got affiliated, your tips really helped me and i don't even have friends that stay in my streams. I always wanted to do this but always felt insecure but with your guides I got the most profissional I could with mic, cam, overlay and etc. That helped overcome my insecurities, I always thought of myself as a uninteresting and unfunny guy, and my viewers helped me see my funny and interesting side. Isn't a exaggerated to say you helped to change my life! Much love brother ❤️

I may have only started watching your content recently, but ive already seen majority of the videos.(eventually gonna get through em all) I love how honest you are with your audience and its on things that really do need to be said, that most others just won't tell them. I believe the delivery on the last tip was extremely important as it tends to be a very delicate topic for most. Congrats on 100k! I look forward to watching more of your content.

Hello ! Thanks for your video, i started to steam 4 years ago and i still not growing, i tried to get more quality of sound, video, make video on KZbin and a lot of tips you talked about. I was saying to myself "i just have no luck only 1% of streamers can grow, i did my best !" But... you made me realize that i didn't try to stream like 100% and do what i started to stream first: The Entertainment, having fun with all random people who came on my stream, give 100% on my energy and not just chilling whole stream. Thanks for the last tips it was a real wake-up call for me

I haven't really "gotten my start" but I am really enjoying learning the process. Your videos are the gold standard for me. I have been doing a lot of these at the behest of a friend of mine who watches you, but there is so much more I need to do. Still trying to figure out how to set up a schedule and market my streams from just the title with both a shifting schedule for work and the fact that my current goal in the main game that I play is pretty basic. But other than that, these were pretty simple and interesting takes for me to grab onto. Still need to save up for a webcam and a good mic, but besides that, these are all great tips that I can do to adjust and get back into things RIGHT away.

NGL chief, I'm doing exactly none of these things (very well). I have my About filled out and a small Rules panel, and I have a basic overlay, but not much else. To be fair, I am still at a VERY beginner level so I'm still figuring a lot out and I took a lot of notes on this video! It continuously amazes me how much goes into being a streamer, and how much I wouldn't even consider being a thing until someone else brings it up. I seriously appreciate the fact that you make all these guides because it makes me feel more confident about my ability to do things well when I start streaming again.

16 XD, I've kinda done the last tip around two times now and every time I do that I feel like I did get better, even if its a little bit. Also I've recently started trying out your 10 minute self talk session, and boy does it help a lot especially when I do it before going live. I feel more confident and my casting is improved overall as well!

Thank you for all the advice this channel has to offer! When I originally started streaming it was more of a way to analyze old gameplay and see how I could improve, then I was actually getting viewers and the interaction with the people in chat (even if it was just 1 person...) was just fun to me. I started incorporating some of your ideas and tips into my stream and within I think a month of streaming I've hit affiliate status! You've helped me turn something into a fun hobby that I enjoy doing and for that I am grateful. I do need to work on my consistency though through my schedule :x

I'm on my 2nd year of streaming consistently and only got 18/32. It took me a long time to learn a lot of this on my own, but I wasn't really thinking about growing or building anything early on. I just kept going live every day because it was fun. After 516 days in a row I was just really frustrated because I felt like I was putting in a lot of effort and not really seeing any results. I decided to end that daily stream streak and start trying to figure out how to actually grow. It's been a couple of weeks and it's a huge learning curve. I'm still frustrated, but optimistic.

Just found this video. I think the thing I struggle with the most is the thought of what other people may think. Inside and outside of my circle. The mental battle of streaming is much harder than doing it in my opinion. I can’t wait to start over and see where this can take me. It’s been my dream for years and video games are my passion. Just off the back off taking a month long break, I got two thirds of the way to making a full time income and started getting burnt out, I think its easy to become Complacent and forget all the bits and bobs needed to keep your self entertaining, I've been thinking alot about the phrase "having it". From starting streaming and gaining an audience i was proud to say i was doing well and was under the impression what ever "it" was i had it. I then all of a sudden stopped taking pride in my content, I think it was because i stopped grinding and dropped to just turning up and playing for 3/4 hours. If you know you're not working hard enough you're gonna go downhill in my opinion. Trying to come back to it with a less grindy mindset but also have that balance in doing things i'm proud of and making progress. Got to keep Learning Always and Make sure the content i'm putting out is good enough.

This video was so very helpful. I have subscribed and will be looking at the content to better improve my stream. As someone who is new to streaming (I've only been doing it for a week) I think it is important to have the "real talk" about what it is. Being told exactly how it works and that it is hard work and not just hitting the "go live" button and hoping for the best. I lost count because I was more interested in the content then keeping count, but I know I'm currently doing 20+ of these. Thanks for all the tips!!!
