​@@generalpatton6846 If you mean specifically reperfusion, that can be prevented with tourniquets and hydration of the patient while the limbs are dug out and possibly saved - whereas amputating in situ is, of course, guaranteed limb loss. (Source: spouse has been a first responder for over 35 years and has dealt with such incidents)
