this is where we see Embiid's clear advantage in a matchup with Jokic, they're about the same size and strength, both have great touch, range, and an arsenal of post moves that no one in the NBA can guard 1v1. But Embiid is quicker and bouncier, faster in a straight line, able to change directions horizontally, and jump higher. With the advantage of mobility, he's a bigger faceup scoring threat. This puts Jokic in a dilemma where if he goes out to guard Embiid on the high post he risks getting blown by, but if he stays back then Embiid will take full advantage of his faceup game and make hella jumpers. When it comes to Embiid guarding Jokic, the threat that Jokic poses isn't as much about him scoring a lot with Embiid draped all over him, rather, it's him forcing Embiid out of the lane to take away his jumpshot and thus generating easy looks for Nuggets teammates moving off the ball and to the basket. Sixers coaching staff countered this in the second half of the game by asking Embiid to stay in the lane as much as possible and having PJ Tucker to go out and guard Jokic on the high post instead, and when the lane is secured by a rim protector of Embiid's caliber (his other major advantage over Jokic), it's much harder to to have cutters score easy baskets at the hoop. What I think Jokic should have done in this situation is to take advantage of his height over Tucker and try to score more, and I think that's what he will do next time the Nuggets play the Sixers if Doc Rivers continues with this defensive strategy.

He’s not just catching and shooting, he’s got a deep bag of moves of the dribble. He’ll use his footwork in the low block, turnaround jumpers, fades, mid pull ups, threes stepping back, every arsenal at display. He can score in so many ways. Plus put it on the floor, cross you up and dunk on your head. It’s a rare site man.

Actually Jokic´s problem tonight somehow was Tucker. In the first half when Embid was guarding him, he scored however he wanted. In the second they switched Tucker on him as prime defender and Embid as help side, what brought results. But crucial point of the game was Niang geting three 3s in a row with such a ugly shot. After that Embid just dominated.
