I've had 4 black cats. My 1st was Danzig (1 of my favorite bands at the time), then Monet (I had him for 17 yrs), Rembrandt (he passed 2 yrs ago), & currently Renoir. Love my black cats!

I've had cats all my life, but my very first was a long haired all black cat I named Sasha when I was 13. In my 20's I rescued an all black cat that my best friends neighbor liked to put outside on a roof overhang in thunderstorms. His name was Simon after I brought him home. My 3rd and last so far was an all black little skinny female cat that showed up to my front porch 3 days before Halloween. She was so sweet I took her in and named her Norah. About 2 weeks later we figured out she was expecting. She had her kittens in the middle of my bed 2 months later. She was a stray and after her kittens didn't need her anymore she started sneaking out. An older woman a few streets over from me found her and took her in and after talking to her I let Norah stay with her. we ended up keeping 2 of her kittens though that I still have. They will be 6 in February.

I woke up early, and I'm really glad you guys posted. I have to bring my dad in this morning to find out how far advanced his cancer is. We just found out on Friday, the same day I found out my uncle passed away too. I've been sad and worrying all weekend since we got the news, and this is a great distraction. When it rains, it pours. But you guys are my temporary umbrella. So thank you.

I think it was how calm and un-remorseful he was during the trial, like he was thoroughly enjoying reliving the crime. He’s one sick dude. Great one guys!

hmm... oh I AGREE - wholeheartedly - my hmm is " _ancient_ cat gods" - 😼 yes, they are ancient - yet still very much .. active 😹 my god (or goddess in this case) Mischief Maude Maureen kittencat - has me wrapped around her gentle & benevolent paw (unless this human does not respond quickly enough - then the claw will appear - gentle at first, then more insistent if the sleeping human doesn't wake up...) seriously - scratches until SHE has determined she has had enough - if stop too soon, gentle yet sharp claw tap on my arm (I didn't think anything of this - my friend stayed with me and he couldn't believe it) - the 'death stare' until I get her favorite toy.... Mischief & her sister Mayhem (over the rainbow bridge in 2012, far too soon) - were entrusted to me - both (but only the two of them) born under my bed by a neighbours cat (about a year later found out there had been a 3rd - that kitten was gifted to another neighbour, in his lounge) (that why Mischief has her other names - Mayhem (over the rainbow bridge in 2012, far too soon) - could not bear the reminder - so she became Maude Maureen for a while & I think it's too late for Keith & his family - the CAT has decided! adoption complete 😼

yeah - I didn't know until I lived in Canada (Belleville Ontario - bout halfway between Toronto & Kingston) that Canada celebrated Thanksgiving (but on a different timing than America) but, that, even though there were UK flags in transport hub (don't ask me _why_ - they just were, 2013, 2014) - Canada still part of the UK commonwealth, my Canadian partner had never even heard of Guy Fawkes / (or I think 'bonfire night' as it is increasing refereed to in the UK) here, in Aotearoa/New Zealand - and I believe in Aussie/Australia too - we still 'celebrate' Guy Fawkes (which is a bit ridiculous - given it doesn't get properly dark - like 9pm, 10pm, all these little kiddies staying up late for the fireworks) it's always 5 November - "remember remember the 5th november" - as a child, we would occasionally have a *real* bonfire - with the 'guy" and all - (though we never went around 'collecting money for the guy') - plus HEAPS of fireworks - all 'remembering' something that happened _ages_ ago but my Canadian partner (we were both born in 1971, so I'm 52 now - he was 45 when he passed) - had never heard of this. still, he spent a lot of his formative years in America/New York

lovely - good idea. what a lovely, kind, thoughtful thing to do. I also usually 'do' something while listening - contributed to some family quilts (one of my older sisters is the quilter in the family) - we surprised our oldest sister with a quilt for her 40th (many moons ago now) - we had all done at least 3 squares, (she loves mermaids, so mermaid theme) & our sister put it together. one for our mum, one for each of us (5 'girls') - we tried to find someone to put one together for 'the quilter' - but ended up doing a 'book' instead for her (we have tried again since, do a quilt for her, for her 50th... but she is very hmmm... tricky). ok, give you an example - she went to a group class to learn how to quilt - first assignment, something along lines 'a building' - most/all others in class did simple basic house, like a child would draw, square building, door, windows, chimney - my sister did the - (oh have to google it -) you know those spiral umm roofs, towers in Russia - St Basil's Cathedral - (thanks google) - yeah that's what _she_ did. tricky.

(I assume he did) 'boiling' or 'simmering' - big difference 'room' temperature would make a difference (he turned temperature in the house WAY up) - we 'know' - 2 days - and that he did not finish what he started - don't know WHEN he left - so may not have been full 2 days... so, say he put the pot on at the start of those 2 days - does _the other stuff_ - then at some point (pot been boiling/simmering....) - we know he leaves - he could have (for example) left just an hour before the cops did arrived - topped up water in the meantime. not sure if 'solved' this - hope it helped 😊

My daughter's mother & I, in our teens, drinking & getting high a lo, saw a black cat outside near the corner store & restaurant one night. She decided we should adopt it, we took it home, & that night, she woke me up, terrified, cuz the cat was staring at her. She demanded I put it outside, so I did, & then she woke up me up again cuz it was back in the house, even though that was impossible. She decided we should just put it back where we found it. I wrapped it in a towel to avoid getting scratched, but it was very calm until we reached the restaurant, & it went berserk, & I rolled the towel out of the open door, & off it went. We told my father the next day & he said I wonder if it was the spirit of the owner of the restaurant, who just died, people thought he was an old Nazi in hiding. I was like WTF dad?
