yes i had mild ones as a younger kid -thought it was normal then at 50 a full blown one -- terrible was able to get meds that helped lots .. but life beating on you is a struggle

I like the theory that this old couple knew exactly what the town Jackson was, but maybe not who ran it. They told anyone who came asking to stay away from the area for their own good- which was true from a certain point of view- in exchange for supplies. As someone who has random panic attacks, the worst feeling isn't that you're about to die. The worst feeling is that your entire conciousness is getting disconnected from the real world. It's indescribable to those who never got it, but the closest related thing would be as if everything isn't real and you need to wake up from a dream that isn't there. It's such a frightening and debilitating feeling that it stops me dead in my tracks. The way it's pictured here resembles quite well how it starts before it gets worse.

This is pretty accurate. I remember being in a spirit halloween years ago, and for some reason I wasbhaving really bad thoughts, and then the faces on the masks and the ghouls and stuff (none of which bother me) must have triggered me, because my brain went into fight or flight mode, and I felt like I had to get out of there but could barely move. It was like information overload, intense situational confusion, like my brain was telling me I was being attacked even though nothing was wrong. Horrible feeling.
